So I decided to update and add some things to this story because I feel like it isn't really complete. I hope you like it!
~•~I met him in college. He was taking the same course as I was which is: business, but he was very much out of place in that room full of dedicated students. I just had to know why.
See, I'm a very curious girl. So during one of the late night gigs my girlfriends always wanted me to come to, I asked around about him."Who, Luke? Yeah he's a good guy." One of my old buddies in the college paper department tells me. He wraps an arm around my shoulder, beer in hand, points over at the stage. "He's good with the ladies, too." And as if on cue, a bunch of groupies are going nuts over this Luke.
I laughed this off and slid out of his arm. "Easy there, Cupid. This Aphrodite isn't about to fall head first for a mortal."
"Don't say things you don't mean, Aphrodite." He smiles widely and leaves me alone. I go ahead then and was set to study for the upcoming exams when all of a sudden he appears right next to me; the mortal.
"Hi." He murmurs and I managed a quick wave. "You're Rachel, right?"
I nodded and lent out a hand. "Rachel Bloom."
"Luke," he takes my hand carefully and shakes it once and very gently. "Luke Hayes."
Whoa. Talk about a Greek God moment. I thought stupidly and smiled up at him. "You're in my Management class, aren't you?" Yeah, trying to keep it casual n isn't my strong suit.
Luke blushed then and I wondered if he was about to say the same thing to me. "Actually..." he says, "I'm in all of your classes."
Okay. Embarrassing...this is so awkward. Why didn't you notice him, Rachel? My psyche groans.
I shrugged at her and put on a small smile. "Maybe I wasn't looking, huh?"
"You are now." He points out and my smile becomes a grin.
~
Luke and I started dating then. At first it was all fun and games, fooling around (because I'm not really into serious relationships) until one day, I woke and I just knew.
Yeah, I know it sounds so cheesy but it's true. I never thought I'd trust someone this much especially with my family history of a failed (tragic) relationship.
Luke seemed so genuine, without too much bullshit in him, and he really made me happy. We don’t have too many in common but that makes it even more exciting. I learn about new things everyday with him around and before I could even change my mind, he moved in with me. His first night with me was the best because that’s when he told me he loved me.
I was all sunshine and rainbows, I guess, and because we were in the same college with the same classes, almost the same goals, he wasn’t really a distraction. In fact, I think, he helped me achieve my dreams.
