7-The Ride Home
I can’t say that we had fun. Although, it was—
My thought got cut out when Richie called me. I turned around to look at her, as I was sitting shotgun with David driving, and she had this lopsided grin on her face.
“What?” I asked.
“I just realized I want some ice creams. Can we go stop by the next convenient store?”
I rolled my eyes at her. I wanted to say that we had ice cream on the fridge at home but, these boys need to get out of the car. It stinks for crying out loud!
“Uh David… where is the nearest convenient store?”
He shrugged. “I’m going to make a turn right now if you want. There’s the closest.”
“Okay,” I said and gave a smile at my sister then faced front again.
Now where were my thoughts heading earlier?
Oh right, it was fun. We had a whole lot of trouble and drama but it was fun. I have to admit: I like how David stands up to Danny.
My hate for Dan is still here in my heart but hey, he did help Dave take care of me.
The car made a stop in front of a poorly-lit convenient store. There was a guard at the front—even when a place is a dump they still worry that someone would rob it—and one man inside as the clerk. It seems awfully quiet in there.
So it only means that we won’t be a bother.
Richie stepped out of the car, waking up Danny. He was sleeping at the back and as his eyes met mine, he groaned.
