The blue husky

Platinumcoat left the tree house and walked through the green fields. On the day of their arrival on the island, it had been bustling with canines, felines and draconians alike but now, most markets were gone and very few pedestrians were in sight. The silver wolf had to restock on bolts somehow and the store he would usually use was nowhere to be seen. He went up to a store and asked the owner "excuse me. Do you happen to know where I can get bolts from?" The stores owner, a small wyvern, replied with "sorry, can't help much there" before adding "but I'm sure there'd be someone with what you need somewhere here. Sorry."

So Platinumcoat kept looking. No such luck.

He made way back to the treehouse. He stopped at the entrance. Something caught his eye. He travelled to the back of the treehouse. Standing there was the black wisp. It floated towards the forest. As Platinumcoat followed it another presence pursued.

The steps were cracked and covered with vines. The debris spread across the syncronite surface. A hexagonal portal ark stood in the middle of the temple ruins, surrounded by otherworldly magic. A drone came into view. The machine observed the ancient structure. It attempted to comprehend the celestial power around the ark. The drone withdrew a mechanical arm, grabbed a syncronite brick and compared it to the portal ark. Platinumcoat noticed the presence of a blue paw mark on the side of the drone, left there in teal paint. Hm. A mark.

The orange eyes of the creature looked over him. It watched as the drone touched the bricks of its precious creation. It stared at the silvery wolf who spied on the drone. It wanted them away.

The drone moved away from the ark, retreating into the woods. Platinumcoat ran after it, avoiding anything that could make sound. The disk shaped robot continued to glide along, unaware of it's pursuer.

It lost sight of them but it could sense the magic from the wolf like a shark to blood. It made sure not to get to close. They would hear it. It's robotic wings. They would feel it. It's power. The power given to it by it's leader.

Platinumcoat came to a clearing and to his surprise, there was a shack and a cabin. No other signs of wolvern civilisation. For the creator of such a drone, he was expecting more. Then again, his lab was under a tree. The drone floated into the open shack. Platinum peeked around the door. It was only the drone and it was now off. He was about to find out who owned the marvellous technology when a blue husky emerged from the log cabin. So that explains the colour of the marking.

"Ah, let's see what you have for me this time" exclaimed the canine.

Platinumcoat saw the husky enter the shack. He heard the clinking and clanking of tools. And then the husky re-emerged, drone in hand. They threw the drone and it began to float. It flew into the woods.

Platinumcoat stood up and walked over to the husky and asked "excuse me. What's your name, sir?"

The husky turned around. He stared at the wolf before answering with "I am Wilfred M Wolfe, mechanic. And you are?"

"I am Platinumcoat, wolf scientist and brother of an alpha" replied the silver wolf

There was a roar. "You better get inside Platinumcoat, wolf scientist. It's back."

"What's back?"

"The creatures here all tell stories of a otherworldly metal being who hunts in these woods."

"What type of creatures?"

"Mechwings mostly"

The ground shook. Platinumcoat and Wilfred made way inside the cabin, locking doors and closing curtains. "It won't see us in here" whispered Wilfred. The ground began to shake more frequently and loudly. And then it paused.

It could feel the presence of two animals somewhere in the area. It could not pinpoint them but it most certainly felt them. Two drones dispatched from it, assigned with the task of locating the two. "Find them" it ordered "and bring them to me". After some time, one drone approached the shack. It detected the drone from there and predicted the time in which it was sent off.

Thud. Thud. Thud. The creature outside. It searched and searched. They hoped for safety as they sat opposite each other in complete darkness.

The door thrust open as a drone framed itself in its place. A lense looked from Platinumcoat to Wilfred. The drone left. The mechanical creatures paws came into view. It bowed it's head low enough for it to look through the doorway. The creatures snout came in first, followed by four glowing orange eyes. Platinumcoat drew a bow and fired, enraging what appeared to be a mechwing. The creature withdrew its head from the doorframe and screeched in agony. It turned it's attention to a running Platinumcoat and from it's jaws came a large ball of flames. It ascended and flew after Platinumcoat, both of it's drones alongside it, firing laser beam upon laser beam.

The tyrant was knocked out of the sky by a mechwing of equal size. It was the great flaretail with Andesite upon its back. While Platinumcoat hurled electric arrows at the drones using his bow, Andesite and his colossal companion attempted to bite at the enormous threat. An arrow hit one of the drones in the lense causing it to spiral into a tree. The other wrapped cables around Platinumcoat's leg, making him trip. The drone dragged Platinumcoat towards it as it charged up the laser beam. The cable was cut apart by a chainsaw, wielded by Wilfred. The drone was stunned. Wilfred took the chance to slice open the drone with the chainsaw.

The metal mechwing threw the flaretail into the air and hit it with a ball of fire. Rather than staying to fight, it flew away, leaving Wilfred, Platinumcoat, Andesite and the huge mechwing alone. "Thank goodness he's gone. God damn King guardian mechwing. It won't be returning too soon so let's leave while we can." Suggested Andesite.
