One big definition of sadness

"Gold, come quick" exclaimed lillikain before flying out through the opening. Gold stood and left.

"We're going to stay here" informed platinumcoat as both Goldmoon and the teal mechwing faded into the night.

"Did you want to show me something, lillikain?" Asked Goldmoon

"More like someone" replied lillikain, lowering her voice as she did.

"Who?"

The bushes nearby began to shake. "Hide" whispered lillikain. So they hid. And from the bushes emerged a grey mechwing. The mechwing was humming. Not a joyful tune but a melancholy one as it dragged an undersized portion of food to a hollowed out part of a tree. The snake-like creature re-emerged and perched onto the edge of a bare branch.

"Check over there!" Called a voice. The voice of a human. The sound of footsteps. The click of a blaster. "Sir. It's another creature"

A commanding unit to the imperial order stepped out of the thick overgrowth and next to the other soldier. "Then open fire"

A blaster fired. The blast floated in mid air, surrounded in swirls of purple. The two soldiers were confused and Goldmoon had his chance to strike. He ran at the nearest and plunged his claw right through his armour. The commander raised his blaster but too late. Lillikain had hooked on to his helmet and was pecking at the visor with the end of her snout. Gold sliced at the neck of the soldier, separating head from body. "You should have left me to die. I would have been happy for once" retorted the grey mechwing.

"I'm sorry but, who are you?" Questioned lillikain "and why are you so... so sad?"

"Why should I answer to you?" Remarked the mechwing

"We just saved your life" answered Goldmoon

"A life that needs to end!" Yelled the mechwing before taking off and flying into the woods.

Goldmoon and lillikain pursued the grey mechwing. They ran as fast as it flew so no distance was being closed. But something else approached. Goldmoon looked behind him to see Andesite riding on the great flaretails back about 200 meters away. And right towards where he stood. "I'm going to have to be faster". With that, Goldmoon transformed into a mechwing. Now, he darted to the side of the grey mechwing. The grey mechwing took a quick manoeuvre and seemingly disappeared into the trees above. Light began shining through the gaps in leaves as dawn approached.

"How long have you been out here for?" questioned Andesite

"Far too long" exclaimed gold.
