The Wave Country was annexed under Uzu 6 months after Team 7's mission to protect the bridge-builder. After the former Wave Daimyo was overthrown, Tanzuna was elected as Daimyo. Using the wealth from what they got from Gato, they rebuilt their country and worked on their financial issues. Tazuna appointed people in charge of the shipping companies and signed a treaty with Naruto, establishing the Wave Country as Uzushiogakure territory.
Uzushiogakure has a established shinobi force in the Wave as a way of protection for the country. They also have a shinobi academy. The Wave Country acts as both a trading port and a port to get to Uzushio. The Wave is also a uncover military and information post. Inari is being trained to become the next daimyo after Tazuna retires.
