hey. I'm y/n and I'm 15 years old.

I just moved from Montauk New York to Nockfell County. We lived in a big house by the bay with open fields.

We were gonna move in to Addison Apartments but decided not to as there were rumors of the place being haunted.

I was bullied a lot in school for my heterochromia (One blue eye one brown eye).

My mom recently died and we felt it was best to leave the past behind.

We ended up moving to a big house down the street from Addison Apartments so we'd still be within walking distance to the school.

It was the summer before 10th grade after all. In 3 weeks I'll have to go. But....

not yet.

I hopped onto my bike and started heading to a donut shop I saw on the way here. It seemed pretty nice compared to the rest of the broken down town. Hey, who knows, I might even meet some new people.

I pull up to the shop and lock my bike to a bike rack. There were a couple of other bikes there so maybe kids my age?

I looked around and saw a small park with a couple benches. Might as well eat there after I order. I like the outdoors. I looked through the glass door of the donut shop and noticed it was quite empty. There were only a couple people but I couldn't quite see them. I open the door.

-ring ring-

The door made a noise when I opened it.

"welcome to nockfell donuts!! What can I get for you hun?" Asked the woman at the counter.

The group of people I saw earlier looked up at me then back to their food. They seem to be around my age and the only other people there.

"uh just a chocolate donut. And a strawberry smoothie please." I keep my eyes on the group.

One kid has bright blue hair and a mask on. The others also look like misfits. They look like potential friends.

I didn't notice but they got up and started to head past me for the door.

"Of course hun. Can you grab me the milk jug? It's in the fridge behind you."

I nod and turn around quickly. A little too quickly.

I bump into the kid with the mask and his friends are behind him. The kid drops his donut on the floor. Great first impression.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry!"

"It's ok." He chuckles. "It was just a donut."

I pull out my wallet from my mini back pack and hand him a five dollar bill. "This should cover it."

"Oh you really don't have to-"

His tall friend takes the five. "Thank you." He says. The whole group laughs.

The girl nudges him. "At least give it to sal." She says.
