It was a normal thursday when I was kidnapped. As usual I was enjoying my day at my go to reading spot. I was at the mall in the food court. My city is small with two malls and the richland mall is the best choice for reading because the food court has this Mongolian Restaurant that is overshadowed by the chick-fil-a 20 feet away. So it didn't get as much business but still kept going because at some point you get sick of chick-fil-a and pizza. It's never crowded so you get a table between you and other customers. With the perfect background noise of the kitchen clang, and calm conversations.

But one problem with being in love with reading and being able to teleport to the world inside your book, is forgetting about your surroundings. You're there but not really there. I guess that's why I never noticed the man not far away who would take notice of me every Thursday evening. I was on my walk from barnes and nobles with a new book in my bag. I arrived at the mall around 6:50pm. A little later than my usual timing of 6:00 leaving me with only about an hour after I got my food and drink. I got in line for my usual food order and drink but when Elly saw me in line she called me over and told me she had my food ready for me earlier but since it got cold she will serve me a new plate. I thanked her, telling her she didn't have to do that for me but of course she insisted.

I met her about a year ago. When I started using this place as my reading nook. She was always really nice and we quickly made friends. I go over to her apartment sometimes to watch movies with her and we go shopping together every now and again. She also started to get into reading with me, and I started to get interested in watching shows and movies because of her. She also realised I order the same thing every thursday so now she always has my food ready as soon as I get there. I always told her she didn't need to but she always says its no problem

Minding my business and not being very social didn't really help me in the long run, because i didn't know very many people. Other than my family who, I don't really talk to anymore. I saw no point. I'd rather not be jabbed under the table and act fake, as soon as I could I moved. I didn't really care where i was going and just like every cliche I winded up in LA. I guess it's human nature in the US to want to move west.

I sat down at my usual spot in the corner, pulled out my book and started reading.

After my usual hour my watch started to vibrate. I was pulled out of Sam's world. Not that it was any better than mine.  God I can remember it also so vividly. The book I was reading was Every Last Word. It handled some heavy stuff, but it was great nonetheless. I never even got to finish it.

I was in the parking lot of the mall when he came behind me with a rag dumped in chloroform. Everything went dark, and woke up in a dark room.

The same room that i'm in now. He found everything I had. The kevlar string, the pepper spray, everything.
