Vicious Love [Teddy Lupin]

16. Ser Hodgkin

Ladies and gentlemen, look who has landed themselves in detention again: Edward Lupin, Seth Avery, Fred Weasley, James Potter and Samantha Avery. I cannot believe the four walking disasters has got me into their mess. They wanted to check all the dorms of the Gryffindor house to see if anyone has the potion they've created. The boys' side is clear; no Gryffindor boy stole it. When they were snooping in the girls' side however, that's when I caught them and they wanted my help so I did. The girls side didn't have the potion either so we're good.

The boys then headed over to the Hufflepuff house to check their dorms but we were caught by a 7th year prefect when we got to the first dorm of the boys' side. And so we were taken to Professor Sprout, since she is the head of the Hufflepuff house. She decided that for our detention, we will be feeding the mandrakes.

So here we are at the greenhouse feeding the mandrakes with Dugbogs, which are their favorite food according to Professor Longbottom. It's horrible because the mandrakes are moving so much and they cry -- even with earmuffs they are deafening. Although on the bright side, one mandrake had bitten Lupin's index finger.

"I shouldn't even be here right now. I have loads of work to do." I complained, glaring down at a crying mandrake. They are so ugly that it's so cute. "I need to study for the Potions test tomorrow and answer 50 questions for Defense Against the Dark Arts and practice my vanishing spells for Transfiguration."

"Who actually studies?" Lupin chuckles. "I don't need to study. I will pass Potions anyway. I've already got half of the questions for Defense Against the Dark Arts finished and I've already mastered the vanishing spells."

"Yeah well, we can't all be like you Mr. Perfect." I replied mockingly, flipping my hair as to imitate him.

"A thought just came to me." James announced, dropping everything he's holding. "Sam, I was your first kiss, wasn't I?" I froze on my spot and felt my face heat up completely. I thought we were to never speak of that one time ever again. "I mean, technically it was an accident kiss but still, you kissed me on the lips." Look at him now, standing there with a smirk of accomplishment. He wishes he was my first kiss.

Fred, Seth and Lupin paused from their work to look at me, interested on my response. "Unfortunately for you, you are not my first kiss." It's a relief to say I've already kissed someone at the age of 15. Although I wished my first kiss was actually special and I knew the person...

"Who was your first kiss then?" Fred asked.

Seth already knows this. He's the first person whom I shared the story with. I told him what happened and he laughed at me for hours. "She doesn't even know." Seth snickered. "She literally gave her first kiss away to a stranger."

Lupin laughed at that, probably just as hard as Seth did when he first found out. "Ha! Not even me!"

"Teddy, your first kiss was with a girl who hates you with a passion." James snorted.

Fred raised a brow. "Who? Sam?"

"Ugh. No." I cringed. That just brings me back to Halloween 3 days ago when I almost kissed Lupin. Cringe attack.

James shook his head. "No. The other girl who hates Teddy a lot."

"Nicole?"

"No, other the one."

"Oh! Teddy's first girlfriend! Veronica!"

After that point, I stopped paying attention because as I said, I've had a cringe attack to keep me preoccupied. I hurried up feeding the mandrakes and after 10 more minutes, the job's done and we are free to go. I was going to go back to the common room by myself since the boys wanted to roam around the castle. However, they have seemed to discover something that sparked my interest.
