3 Months Later
Olivia POV
March 29, 2020
"One more push, baby!" Michael encouraged me as I laid in a hospital bed, attempting to give birth. I pushed one more time as instructed, letting out a loud groan and in seconds, I felt relieved as the baby slid out of me. "It's a girl!" The doctor proclaimed. He then reached over for a pair of surgical scissors and looked at Michael. "Do you want to cut the cord?" He asked. Michael basically lunged at the opportunity. After Michael cut the cord, while wearing the most adorable dorky smile, the doctor grabbed our baby girl and handed her to the nurses. "Girl, born March 31, 2020. 5 lbs, 16 oz." The doctor announced. Michael returned to my side and we shared a look. He did a little goofy cheer, earning a chuckle from me. Once the nurses cleaned our little girl, they wrapped her in a hospital blanket and walked over to us, "do you want to hold her?" The nurse asked. I opened my arms right away, taking her from the nurse immediately. "Hey no fair, you held her for 9 months!" Michael teased. I smiled as he leaned in closer to join me in admiring our babies face. "She's perfect." Michael said. The nurses and doctors, all gathered around the bed, smiled and stared in awe. "We'll let you two have a moment with your baby. One of the nurses will be back to check with you shortly." The doctor said as he and the other nurses left the room.
As they walked out, Triniti, Mother Katherine, my Mother and Matthew all walked in. "Oh my goodness! Hey!" I greeted them. Michael grabbed the baby from my arms and I sat up in the bed. Everyone took their turns hugging me and saying hello and greeting my baby. "She's so perfect!" My mother gleefully said. "Oh my goodness! Hi Titi baby!" Triniti spoke in a baby voice to her. "She's beautiful!" Mother Katherine said with a smile. "She looks just like you, Liv!" Matthew said. I smiled at all their comments. "If you're going to hold her, just make sure to sanitize!" I reminded them.
As time passed, everyone took turns holding her and sharing conversations. "So, have any names picked out?" Mother asked. "We have a few in mind, but none officially picked out yet." Michael responded. I smiled. "You look tired, darling. Why don't we head out and let you rest?" Mother suggested. I smiled and nodded my head, knowing it would be one of the last times I would be getting a good amount of sleep. They all chuckled at my immediate response, gathered their belongings, shared hugs and then made their way out. Michael held our bundle as he walked over to me. "Do you want to hold her once more before you go back to sleep?" He asked. I smiled and nodded my head as I took her into my arms. I caressed her face softly. "Hi baby. It's mommy! I'm so happy to finally meet you." I whispered to her. A slight smiled formed on her face. "Oh my goodness, Mikey! She just smiled at me!" I announced. "She knows her mommies voice!" He responded happily causing me to smile. "So, I was thinking we honor both our mothers?" Michael asked. "How about Katherine Rosie Jackson?" I asked. "I love it!" He responded. I looked back down at our baby, who was sound asleep. "You like that name little Kathy?" I whispered in a baby voice. Kathy smirked subtly once more. "I guess that's a yes!" Michael said. He pecked me on my forehead and caressed Kathy's cheek. "I love you, baby." He said aloud while admiring our new little girl.
A nurse walked in to collect Kathy and take her to another room. This would allow us both to sleep before it was time to feed Kathy again. "Get lots of rest! We'll be in soon to check on you." The nurse said before walking out with Kathy in her arms. Michael pecked my lips and laid in the bed with me, holding me in his arms. "I love you so much, hun." He said as he caressed my face, causing me to fall asleep faster than usual. "I love you too Mikey!" I said in between yawns. The room grew quiet and in no time, I was fast asleep.Michael POV
I watched as Liv drifted off to sleep, still caressing her smooth face. I pecked her forehead once more before getting out of the bed and going down to the hospital lobby. I went to the gift shop and looked around. I grabbed a few different stuffed animals, and enough flowers to fill the windowsill in Olivia's hospital room. I reached in my pocket to make sure I still had a certain item with me and smiled when I felt it there. I went up to the register and bought the stuffed animals and flowers. When I finished, I grabbed my items and went to the café. I took out my phone and texted Triniti,
"Hey, could you head back up here? Meet me in the cafeteria."
Within seconds, Triniti responded and it took her no more than 10 minutes to arrive. Once she spotted me sitting at a table, she made her way over and took a seat. "So what's going on, Mike?" She asked. I filled her in on all my plans and then we went back up to Olivia's room.
We took the table in the room and put it at the foot of her bed. I put the flowers in a vase and the stuffed animals around it. Triniti helped me make it look pretty. "Now we wait." I said with a slight chuckle. Triniti and I sat by the windowsill and talked amongst ourselves as we waited for Olivia to wake up. "So, I haven't heard much about Jared lately. How are things between you two?" I asked. Triniti looked at me in shock, "Olivia hasn't told you? We broke up." She responded. My jaw dropped, "I'm so sorry. I had no idea. With everything going on, it must've slipped her mind." I immediately responded. "It's alright. It was 3 months ago, a few weeks before we were kidnapped by Latoya and Diana. Same month." She responded. "I was wondering why you were flirting with that officer." I teased. She playfully nudged me. "Did things advance between you two?" I asked. "We talk, here and there. I don't think I see him in my future, if he is it's on more of a friendship level." She said. "What are you two talking about?" Olivia said with a groan causing both Triniti and I to jump. "Mornin' sleepy head." I said as I walked over to Liv and pecked her on the head. "Oh who gave me those flowers?" She asked. I flashed Triniti a look and she pulled out her phone. "Yeah, about that Liv." I started as I flicked the lights on. She rubbed her eyes which weren't used to the brightness just yet. I giggled, "sorry, baby." I smiled. When our eyes met, I sat beside her on the bed, "I love you so much, baby. There's no other woman in this world I would want to have had my baby today. I'd do absolutely anything for you two. You are my girls and my entire world. With that being said, I don't want to know what a life without you is like. I want to be by your side until the very end and there's no other woman I would want at my side. I want you, and I need you in my life. Without you, there is no me. You're my better half, and my best friend. Olivia Garcia, I want you to marry me. Will you be my wife?" I asked, holding out a huge diamond ring. I felt my nerves cause my entire body to shiver. "Oh my God, Michael! Yes! Yes! I love you so much! Come here!" She said, unable to jump up and hug me. She wiped her tears and kissed me all over my face, and my lips and I hugged her tightly. I pulled back and grabbed her left hand, sliding the ring onto her ring finger. "Well, how do you like it?" I asked her and she watched it shimmer in the light. "I absolutely love it, and I love you so much, baby." I said. We shared one more kiss before looking at Triniti who was recording the whole thing. She pressed stop on the video and wiped her tear filled eyes. She made her way over to us and hugged us tightly. We shared a group hug before pulling back. A knock was heard at the door. The nurse returned with Kathy, "feeding time!" She announced as she walked over to Olivia with Kathy. Olivia grabbed Kathy and began breastfeeding her. Triniti and I took a seat and the girls immediately began discussing the engagement and our future wedding. I sat back and smiled. I admired Olivia's beautiful smile, whatever my baby wants, she will get.
