Yesterday, the girls and I hung out the entire day with Kaia. They didn't even leave until close to midnight and honestly they would've stayed later if it wasn't for my mom who decided it was a good idea to kick everyone out. We were actually having a pretty good time. I won't lie, I am a little skeptical about adding a new person to our group especially since Tara and Ahni seem to be obsessed with Kaia even though we just met her. Nothing against Kaia, I just don't want her thinking she can just steal my best friends... I mean, they were my best friends first.

*ding*

Oh yea, we also added Kaia to the group chat. It wasn't my idea, it was Ahni's. This is what made me a little hesitant about this new edition. I just feel like we're moving way too fast but it might not be too bad. Kaia just offered us a ride to school with her and her brother. Which means...

We're finally off the school bus!

After I finished getting ready and ate my breakfast I heard a honk from outside. It was Kaia and the girls.

"Hurry up, River! We can't be late on Kaia's first day!" Tara called out.

"I'm coming now!" I said running to the car.

"How can you run with those booties on?" asked Ahni.

"Magic," I replied sarcastically.

"Hey, thanks for the ride!" said Tara.

Kaia's brother, Luca nodded.

"How do I look? You know I had to make sure I looked good. Gotta make a good impression," Kaia winked.

"I love that shirt!" cried Ahni.

"Thank you! I thrifted it!" Kaia smiled, "I can't believe we're starting a new school, Luca! Are you excited?"

Luca nodded.

Kaia rolled her eyes, "anyways, do you guys want a ride back home after school too?"

"No but thank you! We're actually gonna be staying after school this week," I said.

"Oh, what for?" she asked.

"Um, we have these meetings for a club we're in," I mumbled.

"What club?" Kaia asked, turning towards us in the backseat.

"We're planning our school's first winter formal!" Ahni cheered.

"That's fun! Any room for new members?" Kaia asked.

I scratched my head, "actually, I think it's too-"

"Yea, you can come too!" Tara invited.

I nudged Tara's arm.

"I saw that, what was that about?" Kaia called out.

I sighed, "it's nothing personal, it's just-"

"River somehow convinced the school to let her create a club that will help put together a school dance," Tara interrupted.

"That's so nice!" Kaia smiled.

"Not really, she only did it because she wanted a sweet sixteen," Tara added while laughing uncontrollably.

"You what?" Kaia laughed.

"Originally her mom was gonna throw her a Night in Paris themed sweet sixteen but she told her she wanted a big shopping spree instead," Ahni giggled.

"Let me guess, the school dance theme is a Night in Paris?" Kaia asked.

I nodded.

"That's kinda smart actually," Luca shrugged while looking at me through the rear-view mirror.
