The end of camp had arrived and luckily camp had taken place in Cali. That meant that Alex could take her scheming up a notch because she was on her home turf. Her family had a shore house with a bunch of amenities a typical house had, including a balcony and jacuzzi. Couple that with its close proximity to the boardwalk and it being nearly central in the city, yet mostly isolated made it super appealing as a vacation spot.

She had been wanting to take Tobin there for awhile and now that they were back 'on' with Chris and in her home state made it a must go to. None of them had really packed swim wear considering it was early spring so she knew they would have to shop for Tobs and Chris. She had to have some in the room she typically used when they stayed at the house since swimming was a big part of the allure.

She stood up and greeted Christen with a quick kiss as she made her way into the lobby. She felt her heart stutter as her eyes fluttered open and met that vibrant green. She had told the girl several days ago that she was falling and boy she had not been lying. She just hoped that Christen had some feelings for Tobs and her as well.

There was the fact that she did take them back, right? That had to mean something. Lost in thoughts, she tossed the car keys to the other forward and started making her way to the parking garage. After about a half hour, they pulled up to this 'All Things Surf' shop.

She laughed as Tobin whined from the front seat. The older woman hated shopping. It just did not appeal to her. Alex typically had to give Tobs incentive by promising to model some outfits just to get her to come. Christen grabbed Tobin's hand once they were out the car, and dragged her into the store. Alex couldn't fight the smile that took over her face at the sight.

Tobin browsed for about a minute and a half before making her selection and shrugging at the incredulous looks the other two women gave her.

"I don't know why y'all insist on taking 5 hours to buy these itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikinis knowing how chilly iit is right now. Just asking to catch a cold huh?" She berated as she went to put her plain black bikini bottoms on the counter. She would wear those and a sports bra and call it a daym

"We were just trying to look sexy for you baby," Alex cooed as she seductively ran her finger along the fabric she was currently holding up to her bosom.

"Besides if we get sick, we have you to take care of us daddy." Christen smirked at the wide eyed, glazed look in the midfielders eyes. The forwards laughed and went about getting their stuff so they could leave.

"The fuck was that? Oh boy, I hope they don't make that whole teaming thing a real thing. I will not survive." Tobin muttered as she trailed after her girls.

They hopped back in the car after Christen selected a small red number and Alex gave up her search in favor of wearing something back at the beach house.

This time Alex was in the drivers seat so she pulled into a mini market with a parking complex full of several different stores. She dropped Tobin and Christen off to get some liquor and a firestick for the tv while she grabbed the food and fruits needed for their dinner and slushies.

After their designated separate trips, they loaded the trunk up with bags. They made their way through the Cali traffic. There was this one particular moment when Kendrick Lamar's Love came on that Alex understood what true happiness was. They rode with the windows down, hair blowing in the wind, sun exposing the depths of each woman's eyes, voices penetrating the air with an upbeat lilt to it, not a care nor worry in sight.

Just joy. Being content. Carpe Diem at its finest.

It was still late in the afternoon when they arrived home so they set to work immediately. Tobin got to work on setting up the firestick and also got dj honors for the night.
