The Prince.
The Prince knew that he needed to face the responsibilities of being the next King. Since it is also the queen's last wish for him before her goodbyes.
"Your father is getting weaker. You would need to be a King as soon as possible. I know that you will be a good king to our people. I will always guide you wherever I am."
Tears flooded the Prince's eyes as his mother said that she was getting weaker and weaker everyday. The queen touched his cheeks and as she wiped his tears, she smiled at him as if telling him that everything is going to be alright.
After staying inside the castle for days because of the queen's death. He went to his father and told him his plans in getting ready to be the next King.
The King was delighted with the idea and told him what he needed to do before taking his position as the next King.
The Prince knew it was coming but he can't help but feel sad because of that thought.
A King needed a Queen. And so, in order to be a King, the Prince needs to have a bride.
He knew from himself that his heart was already taken by someone, the girl from the village that has the sweetest smile.
But then, he knew to himself that the both of them could never be together.
He decided to visit the village again as he sneaked out of the castle after getting stuck inside for days.
He wanted to at least see her face for the last time, before getting married to another girl that his Father will choose from other places.
But, he never saw the girl from the village.
He continued going to the village while the castle was busy for the upcoming wedding and the preparation of the passing of the throne.
He didn't even have the chance to bid his goodbyes to the girl.
The day of the wedding arrived but he still doesn't have an idea where the girl from the village is.
He closed his eyes as he remembered the beautiful face of the girl and her sweetest smile. And when he opened his eyes, the image disappeared, as he felt the crown above his head.
"All hail the new King of Smeraldo!"
The Gardener.
The Gardener still continued his everyday routine.
Planting seeds and waiting for the flowers to grow as he picks them up after several days.
But then, compared to before when he was happy in picking the flowers, it became different now.
For every time the flowers would bloom, he would always wait at the middle of the night to see a girl crossing his fence who would pick the flowers that are as beautiful as her.
