Never Seen Anything Quite Like You Too:

28) spring brings about change.

The pearly rays of the sun played on my eye lids and woke me up to a fine morning. It took only few steps towards the window pane to see and feel the difference. The air smelled earthy and the dry and drooping plants were now boasting of their new found youth. It was coming of the age; but yes in the reverse order.

Adjoining the plants were their new neighbors, slick, curly, twirling bougainvillea and spring weeds. They almost looked up to the tall trees, wishing to grow as tall someday. They gyrated with the smooth wind, letting their leafs dance to its tune; like Cinderella with her prince charming.

The beetles with their polka dresses had come out too. The preying mantis had stopped praying as God had answered their adjuration. There was plenty around to have and see.

I could see from a far the Bee-Queen summoning her army of lecherous male bees, who were willing to die to have their chance. She was making the plans for their new hive. It was green and beautiful all around.

My enthusiasm for the beautiful spring morning that April held for me was interrupted by a knocking on the door. Now I know it was either of two people: my father, or Glen. Considering my Father absolutely hates my soul, mind and guts right now I'm banking on the person at the door being Glen.

I ran down the stairs and opened the door to find the postman standing there. Okay. That was not what I was expecting at all.

"Package for Miss Seeger?" He asked.

"Uh. Yes that's me," I said.

"Here you go then," he said and handed me a package with a letter cello taped on top of it.

"I didn't order anything," I pondered.

"Well someone obviously ordered something for you," he said and walked off.

I closed the door and wandered into the kitchen, the package and letter in my hand. I put them both down on the kitchen table and looked at them.

Anticipation rippled through me like a shiver going down one's spine. I wasn't sure what this was or who had sent it but either way I guess it was time to see who and why.

I'm not used to being sent packages let alone letters. Who would have sent me anything of the sort and more importantly... Why?

Why now in the spring where everything changes. Where lambs stood on the grass where no lamb stood before. Where sheep tend to get their wool cut and marked. Where daffodils spring from the soil and reach as far as they can up to the sky. Where the trees being new life and share the gorgeous colour of green throughout the land. Where the cold air turns just that little but warmer and the skies turn bluer day by day. The sun becomes hotter and we can feel the change in hear from winter to spring. Well, there's always a day where some somethings will change and I guess spring is the season that brings about the most change we will see in a year.

Spring brings about change in the weather, it brings about change in the decor of the whole planet. Beautifying the earth with just a few simple steps and ultimately it brings about change in people. People become happier that the winter months are over and done with and that they can now look forward to six months of, hopefully, warm weather. Now that's something to look forward to is it not? But the question I am after an answer to is this: will spring brig about a change in me? Will I be able to see a change in myself like I see a change in those around me.

It was early April which meant that Spring was just about hatching it's first eggs of the season. The little chicks were starting their new lives in the big wide world. The letter that lay on my kitchen table seemed like a freshly laid egg that the mother hen had laid and the parcel seemed to be looking up at me, wanting and expecting me to open the letter. I shakily walked over to the kitchen table and picked the letter up. On it was my address and my name in a handwriting style that seemed familiar but one that I had only seen a couple of times before. Maybe even once.
