Ethan, leash in hand, walked to the doors of the flower shop. Suddenly, another familiar tune sang through the speakers.

"You don't have to be a hero, to save the world."

Ah, the song Talk to Me was playing. A beautiful song.

"It doesn't make you a narcisist to love yourself."

But why would a song like this be playing now? Fate?

"It feels like nothing is easy, it'll never be."

Everything felt warm as Ethan smiled to the tune.

"That's alright, let it out,"

Ethan grinned even wider.

"Talk to me."

Ethan took a deep breath and stepped out the door before putting up a sign in the flower shop window that read, "Sorry, on break! Come back soon!"

Spencer trotted beside the boy as they walked down the street. The two walked past homes and people, paying attention to the little details and colors. L.A. was beautiful.

But the warm feeling had to leave soon, as after about 10 minutes, the two rounded the corner, and Ethan's heart dropped.

It was Mark sitting in the middle of the sidewalk, crying. His body shook with every heart wrenching sob. All Ethan could do was stare.

Spencer took Ethan's loose hand as an opportunity to bound over to the crying man, panting. He nussled Mark and whimpered, as if he knew what was happening.

"..Mark..?" Ethan's voice cracked as the male looked up at him, puffy eyed. Mark just continued to cry, hiccuping as he did so. He couldn't speak, not at a time like this.

Ethan took slow steps toward Mark, quickening the pace until he was jogging towards him. He got on his knees next to Mark and awkwardly put his arm around his back.

"Mark- er.. Sir?" Ethan tripped over his words, feeling a pit in his stomach.

Why is he crying?? The only time I've seen him cry is when he looks at fan made videos for his milestones on YouTube... o-or maybe it's because he lost his friend?

Ethan looked at the road in front of him, noticing the skidd marks.

Yeah.

Mark continued to cry as Ethan rubbed his back, and Spencer sat next to the two, his head tilted.

But eventually Mark's sobs slowed, and he rubbed his eyes.

"I'm-" his voice hitched as he looked to the smaller boy, the one who ran the flower shop. "I'm extremely sorry, I don't know what came over.. uh. Me."

Ethan eyed the skidd marks on the road one last time before looking Mark in the eyes.

"Hey, don't worry about it! We all have our moments where we need to cry." He smiled at Mark, making sure he knew he was understood. He was met with a warm smile back.

"Yeah, I guess so."

Ethan helped Mark up, and grabbed Spencer's leash. He reached into his front pocket, pulling out a card and handing it to Mark.

"Here's my buisiness card, please call me if you need anything, you hear?"

Mark hesitated for a moment. "Uhm.. are you sure..?" He looked up at Ethan, who was nodding.

"Alright then- Thank you, very much." Mark took the card out of Ethan's hand.

The two waved and began walking their seperate ways. Ethan, towards the flower shop, and Mark, to his apartment building.

----

Am I even going to be able to help him?? How do I expect to be able to take care of Mark, if I can even take care of myself?

Ethan swung open the door and removed the sign. He went over to the desk and put Spencer in the room behind it.

Am I even able to take care of someone?

His head filled with doubt and panic as he leaned on the counter. He put his head in his hands.

Please don't be dissapointed in me, Mark.
