Falling for the wrong guy

Chapter 1

I got out of bed ready for another day at school and waited for Jake to knock the door so we could walk up to school. We walked up the same extra long route so we could spend as long as possible together. Me and Jake weren't in any of the same classes so we didn't really get to see each other at school. Thats why we both made the most of when we did spend time together. Ever since me and Jake got together he promised me that he would now be living his life putting me first. When I would say the same thing he always told me he's the one who should look after me, and I guess that was fine with me. I really loved spending time with Jake he was funny and kind but most importantly I knew he really loved me and thats why I loved him.
When we were walking to school Jake told me that he would take me somewhere special after school. Even though he knew I hated surprises he wouldn't tell me where but I didn't really mind as I didn't want to be at home.
It was a good day at school but I was really exited for when Jake was taking me out.
Jake told me he would be at my house ready to pick me up at 5pm. It was 5pm exactly when the door bell rang. There were two reasons why I knew it wasn't Jake the first was he never rang the door bell he always knocked ,no matter how many time I showed him, and he was never on time. I was still getting ready so I couldn't go and answer the door, finally my dad answered it. I could just about make out that it was Matt and John but nothing more than that. Then my phone rang and it was Jake.
"Hey Bell, I'm really sorry but I can't make tonight so I asked Matt and John round to take you to the cinema. I hope that's alright?"
"Jake but, I'm ready and I was really looking forward to tonight."
"Sorry Bell, we can do it another day. I have to go now, love you."
"Don't worry." I told him not at all meaning it.

I quickly changed into something more casual and went down stairs to see Matt and John. I was surprised to see John dressed really posh, Matt was just wearing jeans and a T-shirt like me.
"So we are taking you out Bella, to the cinema I believe." John said with his hand held out waiting for me to hold, I guess. So I did and he seemed pretty happy with that. Matt walked behind and opened the doors for us but he didn't look entirely happy. I couldn't believe Jake had left me with his two best friends when I was looking forward to spending time with him.
When we got to the cinema John ran to get the popcorn so I waited with Matt. I'd never had a proper conversation with him before but I wasn't going to have one anytime soon. Matt and I stood waiting for John. You could say it was awkward but that might not be enough. John was taking ages so I decided to start conversation with Matt as I knew he wasn't going to say anything.
"Where are we sitting, do you know Matt?"
"Yeah, we have two on row h and one on row d. Only because we had to book an extra ticket and we could't get them all together.I'll sit with you if ya like?"
"Okay that would be cool."
So when John finally got back we had to tell him he would be sat on his own. He took it surprisingly well and all he kept saying was "If thats what Bella wants."
John went to sit down and me and Matt found our seat. While we were waiting for the movie to start Matt and I were having an actual conversation! This was surprising for me because it turns out I knew him pretty well. As Matt was Jake's best friend and Jake was my boyfriend I actually spent a lot of time with him. From what I knew Matt wasn't the talkative type of guy he just kind watched us chat. I guess he was probably different when I wasn't there because Jake used to tell me that he couldn't stop talking so the first time I met him I was quite surprised. I now knew what Jake was on about because Matt couldn't stop!
I told him how annoyed I was with Jake and that I didn't know why he would do what he did because he had never let me down before. Matt told me that I shouldn't worry about John and that it was probably best to just ignore him. So thats what I tried to do.
