chapter five: employed
I was singing along with The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus' Guardian Angel while he was driving. Napatigil ako nang hindi siya sumabay saakin sa pagkanta no'ng dumating ang chorus which we always sing together.
Alam mo 'yon? 'yong hype na hype ka na pero yung kasama mo mukhang hayop na walang pakialam kung magwala ka na sa pagkanta.
"Jin," I called him but he seemed so focused on the road. I have to call him again to be able to caught his attention.
"Yeah?" He asked, not leaving the sight of the road.
Napakunot ang noo ko. "Kanina pa kita napapansin," I said in a low voice, trying not to sound disappointed. "Galit ka ba?"
He shot a quick glance at me then he smiled, followed with his soft chuckle. "What made you think that I'm mad?"
"You're giving me cold shoulders, you stupid young man."
He laughed softly and shot a sideward glance to me. "I will never let you fall, I'll stand up with you forever." He's singing the chorus of the song, smilingly. He looked at me as he drove slowly. "What? Are you just gonna stare at me like that? No plans on singing along with me?"
I rolled my eyes. "You let me sang a whole chorus a while ago too, all alone." I said with emphasis.
He chuckled. "Gago 'to, 'di mo lang alam." I heard him whisper.
"Ang alin?" I asked, tinaasan ko siya ng kilay habang tumitingin sa kaniya.
Nakatingin siya saakin and he even make face! What a brat. "I was singing along with you."
"Ah talaga?" I asked in sarcasm. "Bingi na ba ako't hindi ko narinig 'yong pagsabay mo sa kanta?"
"Grabe, pati ba naman 'to pag-aawyan natin."
"We're not even fighting!"
We stayed silent for a while until he burst into laughter. "We're fighting, Si."
