CHAPTER 5: NOT ANYMORE

He has been thinking about the incident when suddenly his cat hit a lamppost. The car was highly damaged. The front glass broke and a it's pieces fell inside. Despite putting on the seat belt, Sidharth's head hit the steering and started bleeding profusely. The glass pieces fell on his hand and his face. He was very much injured and could not move even after trying very hard to. He was crying in pain and soon was unconscious.

Shehnaaz was lying on the floor and crying. She was not feeling well. She felt that something wrong was surely going to happen. She was worried for Sidharth. She felt as if he needed her. She wanted to see him for once so that she gets relieved but how? She pushed all the negative thoughts aside and assured herself. She said, " Sab Kuch thik hai. Mai hi Jyada soch rahi hoon. "

It was a painful night indeed. Shehnaaz had thought of a lot of things but nothing worked out. The sun rays pierced through the transparent curtains and fell on her swollen face. She woke up due to too much of light. As soon as she tried getting up she hissed in pain. Her back was hurting as she didnot realise that she slept on the floor last night, crying. The last night scenes didnot stop to haunt her. How would they? These were the fresh wounds and everyone knows how much they pain. Her eyes filled with tears again. Each and every word of Sidharth was ringing in her ears. She knew that she won't be able to face him anymore. Things obviously won't be the same.

Shehnaaz tried not to think about it and wanted to distract her mind. She unlocked her phone to make a Tiktok when she saw 37 missed calls from Rita aunty.

Rita aunty and Shehnaaz had become really close to each other and use to share their stuff and talks. She loved Shehnaaz and also used to call her whenever free but 37 missed calls wasn't a joke. She knew that there was something definitely wrong. The last night intuitions flashed again and she felt something was wrong. Why would aunty calk her so many times if there was something not to worry about?

Without wasting a single second more she called her back. The calk was unanswered. It was five times that she called but the result was the same everytime. She whispered, " Waheguru meher karyo. Sab thik hoye". She started to panic. All the negative thoughts started to pile up in her mind now. Aunty called her back. Hardly had the phone rung when she picked up the call. She had a lot of questions in her mind and asked in a single go. "Hello aunty. Sab thik Toh hai na. Kuch Hua hai kya? Aapne Itni baar call kiya.. Sidharth? Sidharth toh thik hai na? Aunty boli na please. Mujhe Bohot tension Ho rahi hai".

Rita aunty was already worried. She calmed her down and said, " Beta Chup hoja. Shaant Ho pehle Tu. Kuch nahi bolegi ab".

" Par aap yeh Toh Batao ki aapne Itni baar call kyu kiya? " said a tensed Shehnaaz.

" Woh Tujhe Kuch batana tha. Beta woh kal Raat to Sidharth ka accident Hogya tha. Humko bhi nahi pata Tha. Raat 2 baje call aaya hospital se. Tujhe Subah se call kar rahi thi Par tune Toh uthaya hi nahi. "

This was it. Listening to it, Shehnaaz was all blank. She couldn't understand anything more. She just said," Mahi abhi aa rahi hoon" and hung up the call. She quickly got up and wore the first dress that she could pick up. She had tears rolling down continuously. She was tensed for her Sidharth. She didnot care about anything that happened last night. All that she could think of was him and how he would be doing by now.

Sidharth had been shifted to a cabin. He was out of danger and was sleep due to the effect of medicines.

Entering the hospital, Shehnaaz saw Raghav. Raghav came to her and said, "Bhabhi aap aa gyi.. Thik Ho na aap? "

"Mai Toh thik hoon par bhabhi Kisko bol raha? " questioned a surprised Shehnaaz". "Acha woh sab chhod. Where's Sidharth? Thik toh hai na woh abhi? " Shehnaaz's eyes were moist again. Raghav could see it very clear. He wanted to lighten up her mood a bit and said, " Are haan.. Sidharth bhai Toh thik hai aap tension mat lo. Arey Kya patakha lag rahi ho aap. Agar Sidharth bhai app pe lattu nahi hota na Toh Mai hi aapko pata Leta". He failed miserably though.
