Ah yes. The first rager of the summer. The group was more than ready for the night ahead of them. Although it was strange since they were in Tulips car since they had another person they needed to fit. Of course the seating arrangements weren't normal. Tulip let Belch drive, he had his license the longest and was a better driver, plus he could handle the more crowded roads. They agreed she'd drive back since it would be late and there would be no one on the road.
Henry was riding shotgun with his seat up straight, his left leg planted on the floor with his right resting on the center of the dashboard, his elbow resting on his knee. The boy was flipping through the radio stations trying to find a station that played metal.
Vic was sat behind Belch on the drivers side, his blonde hair and pale forehead pushed against the warm glass as he snoozed away the car ride. He had the right idea. Nap and then go absolutely wild. He was so quiet in his slumber one might of assumed he was dead.
Jade was seated behind Henry. Who consequently kept sneaking glances at her through the side view mirror. As per the last ride, the leader had signified that Patrick couldn't be near Jade. Hell the girl was just minding her business wondering why Henry couldn't keep one station on for more than a minute. It was starting to agitate her.
She was facing the window watching all the farmland that passed by that seemed to stretch for miles only for it to transition to the look of a standard suburban town. It was different than her home.
Patrick and Tulip were forced into the back seats. It wasn't a good idea in the slightest. As per usual Patrick was testing his luck and bothering the fuck out of her. Whether it was poking or just being a general annoyance and not shutting up, he didn't stop.
There was a seat between them and he still was weaselling his way over to try and get a reaction.
Shoving Patrick's hand off of her arm she called to the front. "Are we there yet? I swear to god if you don't gun it there I'm knocking his teeth out" she said elbowing the lanky boy in the ribs.
"Pat stop you can annoy her when she's drunk" Belch called back to them trying to glare at them through the rear view mirror. His attention was back on the road quickly. He turned on the AC, or rather attempted to. It was hot and humid like it had been for days . "Hey Reg, it's broken" Tulip informed him.
"Green eyes." Patrick said to get Jades attention. The girls head turned, a blank expression was on her face and it nearly shook Patrick to his core. This is was strange. This girl was strange. She'd been hanging around the gang for a few weeks now and still there was barely any progress, between them all. "Put down your window" he said his voice going quiet. Tulip was grinning and tried her hardest to hold back her laugh. "Aye Patty-cakes got a crush or something" she teased reaching out to pinch his cheek.
Jade opened her window and the roaring winds entered the car, Tulip wasn't lucky enough to of tied her hair back, it was currently whipping around in every direction, Patrick's choppy hair did the same. Vic however was stirring awake quickly and picked his head up. "What the fuck J" he grumbled and covered his ears. Henry whipped his head around, the sound of the wind blaring in his ears, Belch winced slightly at the shocking noise. "Belch... Vic open your windows, it'll correct the airflow" Henry said taking initiative as per usual. Who'd of thought he knew so much on air convection.
It took an additional seven minutes but they made it to the party in one piece, with Tulip and Patrick having mediocre salon blow outs. The group piled out of the car. Belch handed Tulip her keys. Everyone had agreed that under no exceptions would they leave later that 2:00am. Leaving Tulip plenty of time to drink now and sober up. After all it was 6:28 and the sun hadn't even set yet. Plenty of time.
"Holy shit, you think Vic's arm candy's gonna be here?" Tulip said elbowing the blondes arm gently. Looking to Jade she covered her mouth with her hand to whisper to her. "He's been looking for this chick for like two months now".
"Find a different airhead tonight, come on it'll be fun" Patrick said encouraging him. "Just go for the first girl you see, that's what I'm doing" he chuckled, eyes shifting over to meet green ones that matched his own. Jade tensed under his stare.
Vic's eyes darted rather uncomfortably, he locked eyes with Tulip for a mere second and immediately she pounced. "Don't even think about it, Criss" she quickly told him and tugged on the sleeves of Jade and Belch so they could all go inside together and drink.
