You speed up your walk until you are directly behind Frisk; your shadow overlaps hers enough that when she finally notices and turns around to question you, her nose is nearly touching yours.
She opens her eyes in surprise and jolts back while you observe her eye color for a moment.
A deep, dark green that almost looks as if it was glowing.
But as soon as her eyelashes flutter open, they close just as quickly and they are once again nothing but glossy black lashes.
"Kris? What're you—"
You tap your own ears before you point to the entrance between the two buildings, the teenage girl understanding almost immediately and tilts her head in that direction.
She flinches when a full fledge scream rips through the throat of the voice and that's all it takes for Frisk to run into the haunted alley way with you close at her heels.
While you run in stride with her, you feel something like a warm fire fill your soul as you round the corner to see what is going on.

But who would I buy these from, you speedily think before your eyes are presented with the strangest sight you've ever seen.
There are three teenagers within the alley: an abnormally tall lizard monster angrily shoving what appears to be a wounded blue jay around while a frightened female reindeer is cradling her left arm as she shouts at the attacker to stop.
Frisks gasp leaves her mouth before she can stop it and suddenly, all eyes are on you and her.
The female reindeer mutters some words of relief before stumbling over towards you.
You instinctively take a small step back as she wraps her hands around your elbows, her eyes glassy and threatening to spill tears while the lizards grip seems to loosen around the birds neck.
"K-Kris! Oh my gosh, thank goodness your here! P-Please! Help!"
You glance at the girl next to you and whether she nods in agreement to the other girl's pleas for help or your slightly confused look, you're unsure.
You turn your attention from the two girls when the blue jay lets out a weak groan as he sinks to the gravelly ground, the lizard now making her(?) way towards you.
The reindeer hides herself behind you, her hands wringing the ends of her sweater nervously while Frisk defensively steps in front of the girl and, surprisingly, you.
Your "sister" holds her hands up in mock surrender and speaks to the lizard in a stern voice.
"That's enough. Leave them alone."
The monster snorts and shoves Frisk to the side by her shoulders, the teenage girl bumping into the brick wall with a surprised grunt before you feel the monster grab a fistful of your sweater.
You're yanked forward and the reindeer chokes on a sob but she refuses to let go of the back of your sweater; it's as if she's scared stiff.
"This isn't your problem. Walk away."
And with that, you're shoved to the side and the girl behind you is forced to let go lest she be taken with you.
Your shoulder hits the wall with a terrible popping sound and you bite your lip hard in order to distract yourself from the pain.
You lift your eyes and are able to see Frisk push herself from the wall and hurriedly grab the reindeer's hand before they both swiftly disappear out of the sight.
You and the blue jay are left to deal with this lizard and you couldn't help but feel ticked off.
Speaking of which, the bird monster seems to be having a hard time pushing himself up and you see his eyes widen in fear.
You feel a scaly fist connect with your jaw and you slide to the ground as a the lizard mutters an "ow" underneath their breath.
As you crawl onto your hands and knees, you feel a black sneaker dig itself into your stomach and then you're on your back looking up into the narrowed yellow eyes of the purple monster.
"You always have to play the hero, don't you? Always shoving your nose into other peoples business, regardless of the reasons it happened?"
They dig their foot into your chest and you close your fists around their ankle, digging your nails deep into their scales in hopes of making them flinch away but to no avail; they simply sneer at you before something in their eyes seems to change.
"So that's how you want it, huh?"
Suddenly, you're lifted up from the ground and slammed against the wall.
Your shoulder blades grind against the rough brick and you grunt in anguish when the monster's claws dig into your biceps; the lizard's toothy grin couldn't be any wider as she leaned in closer than you ever wanted her to.
"Alright pretty boy, pucker up."
A... feminine voice?
Your eyes involuntarily widen at the random realization as her jaw opens in a way that seems too wide to be natural.
You hadn't notice when her voice bounced against the walls and sounded deeper, more gravelly than it actually was.
Hearing her now, her right next to your ear, it almost sounded... smooth.
"Leave him alone!"
You and the girl whip your heads around just in time to see the blue jay posed right behind the lizard with a brick lifted over his head.
He looked as if he was going to throw it; at you or her, you can't tell.
What now?
