"You did what?!" Expandee jumped from his seat to look Izuku in the eyes.
"I don't want to talk anymore about it than what I'm explaining." The green-haired boy said. "I ran into a hero who recognized me, then a little girl ran into me. Supposedly this girl is a hostage to a Yakuza clan. I don't know why I spoke to that hero... But once I felt something was wrong, I couldn't just leave her..."
"We've already got a Yakuza to deal with." Hachi sighed.
"Deku, my leader..." Expandee said. "With all due respect, it's a trap. If the police and pro-heroes don't get us from this, those Yakuza will. The man you described to us sounds like Kai Chisaki."
Crumble-Ton folded his arms and silently shook his head, agreeing with Izuku's second-in-command.
"We can't trust the heroes. How do you know this 'Lemillion' will keep his promise not to have us arrested?" Hachi asked.
Izuku's tongue caught in his throat before he could give any further explanations.
"Have any of you ever had a moment where...your body seemed to move before your mind did?" He asked humbly.
Expandee bowed to the boy. "It's why I ran to you. Everything you've done for the world to see was all reckless to many, and very dangerous. But your intentions were honorable, and gave you powers that no one else had. You run on pure inspiration and it gave me hope."
Hachi stepped forward. "You know what I'm about to tell you, Deku." She sighed. "For as long as I can remember, I was a coward. I was afraid of pain. Pursuing...anything really because of it. One day, I saw three young girls were attacked by a gang in the alley just ahead of me. I've never been so scared in my life yet I ran. I ran right to them all. I don't know if those gangbangers lived or died that day but I don't care. I saved those girls."
Crumble-Ton let his arms drop to his sides, then he walked over and put his sharp hand gently on Izuku's shoulder. Then, he nodded.
Sora and Miu looked at each other and smiled.
"What Expandee said." Miu said.
"You're an inspiration to us." Sora added.
"So if you need our help to save a little girl like us." Mia continued.
"We'll do it." Sora finished.
"So, did Lemillion say anything about a plan? Preparations?" Expandee asked. "Because if I am to follow you, we can't rely on recklessness and pure intentions. Not with Chisaki."
"He said we'll respond to his offer, then we'll come together to form a plan." Izuku explained. "And we need Maindo too."
The group looked at one another then frowned.
"No." Hachi said sternly. "That kid is unstable. He needs help, not to be a part of another rescue mission."
"Here's where I'm absolutely putting my foot down." Expandee sighed. "Besides, Yakuza are either mortal enemies or family. Maindo could be close with Chisaki."
"Exactly why he's necessary." Izuku said.
"Not even anything to do with his Quirk?" Miu asked.
"Because telepathy is one of the most powerful Quirks registered." Sora added.
"Well, how do you know Chisaki?" Izuku asked.
Expandee flinched and took one step back.
"During my low-point, I...." He groaned. "I think we've shared enough today."
"Are we not a family?" Izuku asked. "Families are open with one another...even if it's not perfect."
The silver-haired man covered his face with his hand, then dragged it down his chin. "I can't tell you why I know him, okay? It's nothing against any of you, and I want to believe in our....group here. But...this is Chisaki. If it was any other organized group of criminals and monsters out there, I would have a little more faith but I can't."
Izuku nodded. He was a little hurt that Expandee did not feel comfortable sharing something from his past. He was usually the one who shared the most, being the oldest in the group. Especially with Izuku.
Hachi grabbed his arm and gave him a comforting smile.
"It's okay, Expandee." Izuku said, pushing a smile on his own lips.
"Is it?" Sora said.
"We still need Maindo." Miu said.
"I heard."
The five people turned to see the young boy standing in the doorway to the other room he was staying in.
"These walls have rotted away from neglect. Not very hard." Maindo shrugged.
"And before any of you stay anything for or against this, I say yes."
Expandee's eyes grew bigger.
"You're in luck. My family name and the Shie Hissaikai are in fact enemies, so I have no problems going to war against them." Maindo said.
Izuku frowned. "Just like that? Maindo, are you sure about this?"
Maindo walked up to the freckled boy until he was uncomfortably close. "All I feel is rage. I must unleash it somewhere. You will take me there and I will get you the girl."
"You've-"
"You told me you saved me for a chance. Let this be that chance. I help you save the girl, I go home to my sister." Maindo declared. "Deal?"
Izuku felt a bit overwhelmed. Then again, it is what he figured would happen after his encounter with Lemillion.
"Maindo, back away from Deku." Expandee directed.
Izuku turned and thought for a moment. Maindo is a broken boy. He doesn't deserve the life they live, constantly running from the law, and the League of Villains. And Izuku refuses to think about using him as a weapon. That is the mentality of everyone who has ever met Maindo.
It would be against his own philosophies.
"If you want to come with us, you may." He said. Even though Izuku thought of it initially, and a plan to use Maindo's abilities for this mission, he realized it was wrong, even if it's what Maindo wanted.
"But I won't let you hurt yourself for this. And if you don't want to come, I will let Expandee stay behind and take you to the closest shelter you can go." Izuku finished. "That's my deal."
Maindo looked like he thought for a moment behind his cold expression. "I'll go." He said more softly.
"Then it's settled." Hachi announced.
"Now what, Deku?" Expandee asked, turning to him.
"Now, we meet the heroes."
