The Pain Behind The Glamour

I know
I know
How you
Look at me
And think
Wow
She has a good life
She must
Have everything
Anyone could want in life

I know
You see
My smile
Full of
Joy
But I
I also
Know
You don't see
The pain
Behind it
I know
You see
My skinny body
But you don't
See
My attempts
To thwart food
Burn it
With all my might
And make
It try to leave
My body

I know
You see
My toned arms
You
Once again
Don't see
The lines
Of dried blood
The
White
Lines
Of scars
Refusing
To
Fade away
With them saying
Look at me
Look
she
Couldn't cope
With her own
Pathetic thoughts
And so
She sought
Comfort
In me

I know
You
Again
See
My good grades
You
Again
Don't
See
The
Bags
Under my eyes
From
Another
Sleepless
Night
Trying
To cram
All this information
Into my
Messed up
Head
You don't
See
Me drinking
As much coffee
As possible
Before starting the day
And even
Then still trying
Not to
Go away to the land of dreams
Where only
Good is present
Where only
Peace is
Because my mind
Is in constant war

I know
You don't
You can't
See through
The glamour
I know
You don't
Want to see
Through the glamour
I'm ok with that
Because
Letting people in
Is hard
It's better to put up a shield
Of glamour
It's better
Than trusting
Someone close
Only
To
Have
Them
Betray you

It's ok
I really
Don't care
I just
Thought
That'd
You like
To see
Behind
The scenes
Behind
All
That
Glamour

A/N: Hey guys ! Thanks for reading this ! So a bit of explanation. So when I used the word glamour I didn't mean as in the fancy posh type, no I was referring to the one from Rick Riordan's book series Magnus Chase and The Gods of Asgard. In the book glamour refers to a thin veil of magic that hides the magic from mortals. Most mortals cannot see through the glamour and most don't even try to. So that's what I meant. Anyways thanks so much for reading this! I appreciate it :)
