Change

We all hung out in my basement for a little bit and had some snacks before we decided it was time for the boat. So all the girls went up to my room and changed into our swimsuits and all the boys stayed downstairs and put on theirs.

While up in my room all the girls were gossiping about how cute they thought Jacob and I were. I just tried to ignore it and change.

"So do you like Jacob?" Quinn asked. I just shook my head. But I definitely could feel my cheeks getting warm. 

I put on a pink bikini top that tied in the middle. And then a matching pair of pink bikini bottoms. A white chevron swimsuit cover-up and my pink plastic Birkenstock's.

We all met outside on the deck. The boys were all talking with Melanie and Lola. Oliver was getting the boat ready for us.

"Hi ladies. Oh my goodness you are all so beautiful! I missed you all so much." Melanie said while giving all the other girls hugs. I could feel a pair of eyes on me. I looked to see Jacob quickly looking away from me.

We all filed onto the boat. I sat down and Jacob sat down next to me. We both smiled at each other. 

Lola gave us a quick speech about being safe on the boat and stuff before we left. Conner drove the boat since he's a senior and he is 18.

Everyone was talking to each other having a good time. Jacob and I sat at the front of the boat talking.

"So what did you do all day while we were at school?" I asked him.

"I mostly just unpacked and helped set up the house. Me and my dad also went to go look at a boat too." He explained. I just nodded. I sat there and played with the ends of my hair.

Conner then stopped the boat. It was our spot. Our spot where we always stop to swim and stuff. We put down the anchor and got ready to go swimming. I stood up and took off my cover up. 

"We should take some pictures before we get all wet!" Chloe said while handing her phone to Luke. All of us girls squished together on the seat.

After we mostly done taking pictures I walked over to Jacob and Blake. They were talking to each other at the front of the boat.

"Hey Jacob do you want to get a picture together?" I asked. He sat up and smiled.

"Yeah sure." He said. I handed my phone to Blake and sat down next to Jacob. He slipped his arm around my waist. It felt like a perfect fit. Once we were done taking pictures Jacob and I looked at them.

"Can you send those to me by chance?" He asked. I smiled and nodded. I then set my phone down and then jumped into the lake.

When we got back home everyone changed into some comfier clothes.

I changed into a pair of black Nike running shorts. A baby pink hoodie and then my pink Birkenstock's.

We all went outside and sat around my fire pit on the benches. I sat in between Savannah and Jacob. 

Jacob seemed to be on his phone often, like he was scrolling through Instagram and answering comments or putting things on his snap story.

Savannah was getting all close with Conner. I smiled and looked down at my phone. I was just scrolling through twitter. I could feel Jacob now looking over my shoulder.

"What are you looking at?" He asked. I jumped a little and looked up with a smile.

"Nothing. Just going through twitter." I said. He just nodded. "So did you have fun today? Like with all of us?" I asked. He smiled.

"Yes. I didn't even think I'd have friend this soon after moving here. I just hope there can be more days like this." He said. I felt him put his hand on top of mine. I just smiled and nodded.

"Definitely. Of course. And they last all day, not just like 3 hours." I said. He smiled back at me.

"Yeah this will be the best summer ever." Jacob said. I smiled and nodded. I could feel Jacob put his hand on mine. I flinched at first, but it felt just right.

The next day I woke up in my basement next to Savannah. She was still asleep. I sat up to see everyone else was still asleep, so I went upstairs. I walked into the kitchen and Lola was in there getting herself a cup of coffee.

"Good morning TT." She said quietly. I just smiled and sat down on a bar stool. "So how was last night?" She asked while sitting next to me.

"It was good. Nothing to exciting." I said with a small smile. I then heard someone coming upstairs. I looked to see Jacob. He looked like he was in a rush.

"Good morning Jacob. Everything okay?" I asked.

"Yeah. I just have some business stuff that I totally forgot about." He said before running over to his house. I looked over to Lola and was confused.

"I wonder what that's all about." I asked. We both just shrugged.

The next few days were filled with boat rides, bonfires, and all my friends. Except for Jacob. He was still gone. He claimed he was on business.

When he finally came back me and all my friends were sitting on my back deck having pizza. He ran over to us with a big smile.

"Bro where were you?" Blake asked as Jacob came up the stairs.

"Um just some personal stuff. Seeing my old friends from where I used to live." He explained. We all just nodded.

"Well we all missed you. We had so much fun!" Savannah said with a big smile. He just chuckled.

Later everyone went home, but Jacob stayed back with me. We went and sat at the end of my dock. We were just talking about our pasts.

"So have you had a boyfriend?" He asked. I just blushed and shook my head.

"No. Um I've been told that I'm to serious or to awkward." I said with a small smile. I put my head down and looked down at the water. "How about you. Have you had a girlfriend?" I asked. He had the same kind of reaction.

"No. Not really. I've just been really, um, busy I guess you could say." He said with a chuckle. I just nodded.

"So what kind of business did you have that you had to leave so quickly the other day?" I asked. He just stuttered on his words.

"Um. Uh. Well it's kind of hard to explain." He said chuckling. He was rubbing the back of his neck. I just nodded. "But um some of my friends are going to be coming in a couple days. I'm excited for you to meet them." He said with a smile.

"Fun." I said. We both just chuckled and smiled at each other.
