(It starts right away)

Yamaguchi ran to his room, narrowly missing the beer bottle aimed for his head.

"YOU LITTLE $H!T! GET BACK HERE!" his mom yelled. Fortunately for Yamaguchi, he was able to get inside his room and lock the door. He heard the doorknob jiggle violently, followed by loud pounds.

"OPEN THE DOOR NOW!" Yamaguchi covered his ears and squeezed his eyes shut. He hated loud sounds, they just brought up worse memories. 

Everything was fine when his dad used to be there. But then he left, and Yamaguchi was left here. The jiggling and pounding stopped, and Yamaguchi looked up. 

Silence.

 The door's lock then started to slowly turn. Yamaguchi's eyes widened and he started to panic. He jumped into his closet (gay) as the door was literally kicked open. His mom started looking for him as Yamaguchi tried to keep his breathing quiet as possible. She looked under his bed and in the bathroom until finally getting to the closet. The door swung open.

"Oh crap." Yamaguchi said. He was thrown out onto the floor and held down by a foot. His mom took out a cigarette and started to smoke it while casually holding Yamaguchi down. After a few puffs, she burned Yamaguchi's shoulder with the cigarette. Tadashi screamed. 

"Quit screaming, you baby." She slapped him. She then proceeded to kick him mercilessly, and at that point, Yamaguchi was crying. The beating went on for hours until his mom seemed satisfied. 

-It's over (for now)-

She left the room, leaving Yamaguchi curled up in a ball. He just laid there for a few more minutes until deciding to get up and check the time. 11:34pm. He groaned. He had to get out of there. But where would he go? He had no family he could go to. Then, he got it. 

Yamaguchi checked to make sure his mom was asleep, and once she was, he started to pack a bag. He grabbed some clothes and a few close possessions, and quietly snuck out the front door. Once he got out, he looked back at his house.

I'm sorry dad. 

Tears streamed down his face again. He started on his trip, leaving that house behind him. Well, at least the bad parts. About 30 minutes after he started walking, it started to rain.

Crap, I didn't bring an umbrella. Guess I'll have to suck it up. The rain had started to pour heavier and heavier, and Yamaguchi had to start running. He finally got to the house he was trying to get to, and was about to knock. He brought his hand up, but hesitated. Was he really gonna do this? Leave everything behind?

It's this, or go back to that evil woman Tadashi. He told himself. Yamaguchi decided to knock on the door. (the right option) After a few minutes, he started to doubt that anyone heard him. It was kind of late. Suddenly, the door to Tsukishima's house opened, interrupting Yamaguchi's thoughts. The smaller boy tried to make it seem like he wasn't crying a few minutes ago.

"Yamaguchi? What are you doing here? It's 12 in the morning." Tsukishima said with a slightly questioning tone. Tadashi gulped.

"Um, c-can I s-stay here for a b-bit?" Damn it, now I'm stuttering. Tsukishima looked at him with... was that concern in his eyes?

"Oh, um ok." The blonde stepped to the side to let Yamaguchi in. 

"Do you want to talk about it?" Tsukishima asked. 

"Can we go to your room first?" He nodded, and they both headed to Tsukishima's room. When they got there, they both sat on the bed.

"Ok, what happened?" Tadashi sniffled.

"My mom... she um...she beats me." Yamaguchi mumbled the last part, but Tsukishima caught it. His eyes flared with anger, not at Tadashi, but at his mom. But his  demeanor quickly changed once he saw Yamaguchi crying. He scooted over to him and pulled him into a hug.

"It's ok. You're safe. I'll make sure she never hurts you again." Yamaguchi blushed. 

"Thank you Ts-Tsukki."

Yamaguchi heard two gunshots and bolted upright. He looked to the side of him and saw Tsukishima's bed was empty. Yamaguchi's breathing quickened. He stepped out and peeked in the kitchen. There she was. And right next to her, a dead Tsukishima. Yamaguchi screamed so loud that he probably woke half of Japan. His mom turned towards him and without missing a beat, pulled the trigger.

"Tsukki!"

Yamaguchi woke up, breathing heavily. A light turned on beside him, and Tsukki put on his glasses. 

"Yama? What happened?" Yamaguchi looked down at his lap. 

"Nothing, it's fine, I'm sorry that I woke you." Tsukishima frowned.

"I wish you'd stop doing that." Yamaguchi looked at him confused. 

"Doing what?" 

"Saying that you're ok when you really aren't." Tadashi looked at him shocked, and looked down again. Tsukishima took off his glasses and scooted to the other side of the bed. 

"Come over here." Yamaguchi went over to his bed, and Tsukishima started cuddling him. Yamaguchi started blushing madly again, and Tsukishima smirked. 

"Love you Yama."

"Love you Tsukki."

Bonus: Akiteru walked in on them cuddling, and took pictures to blackmail Tsukishima.

That's how they got together. No confession, just straight up 'I love yous' (though there's nothing wrong with that) Depending on when I post this, this might come out before the teen beach AU one shot I have that's actually before this one. And I am 100% sure that is going to happen.
