Kinkuni- Scared

Everyone has their fears. Clowns, ghosts, vampires, scary girls, moving statues, all that. It can even be weird things, like demonic monkeys that chase you around a hotel, or human eating chihuahuas or something.

Kunimi isn't afraid of any of these things.

Some of his team are scared of things like that, and were constantly trying to figure out what Kunimi was scared of.

"You can't be scared of nothing!"

"Well, believe it or not, I am. Can you leave me alone now?"

That's how every conversation went if the topic was brought up. No one was able to guess what the edgy first year was afraid of, and it led them to believe that Kunimi was really telling the truth.

He wasn't, obviously.

It was a lie Kunimi forced himself to believe, and eventually got others to believe over time. Kunimi didn't want to admit to himself that he fears something so stupid and childish. It's not thunderstorms, demons, murderers, or robbers.

Kunimi is scared of the dark.

He hates being unaware of anything, and to him, someone or something could just grab you out of nowhere. The darkness also makes him feel alone, like everyone was swallowed by a sea of black except him. Everyone disappearing so quickly. It gives him a feeling of helplessness, which he despises. Technically this also makes him afraid of what's in the dark, but you get the point. It's like being afraid of everything and nothing at the same time.

So when he's invited to a sleepover, naturally everything goes wrong...

"Hey Kunimi!" Oikawa chirped. Kunimi glared up.

"What?"

"Geez, I haven't even said anything yet... anyways are you coming to the annual Seijoh sleepover tonight? It's at my house." Oikawa said.

"Why would I go to some stupid sleepover?" Kunimi asked.

"It's not stupid, it's gonna be fun! I already invited everyone, Iwa-chan, Hanamaki, Mattsun, Kindaichi..."

"Eh." Kunimi said.

"Oh come on, if you decide to come, it's at 20:00." Oikawa left, probably to go find Iwaizumi. Kunimi sighed and shook his head. No way was he going to that stupid sleepover.

Kunimi leaned on the bus window, with Kindaichi sitting on his left.

"Kindaichi?" Kindaichi looked over at Kunimi.

"Hmm?"

"Are you going to Oikawa-san's party or whatever?"

"Oh, yeah. Are you?" Kunimi thought for a second. "No way am I going to that stupid sleepover." he had thought earlier.

"...yeah."

As soon as he knows it, Kunimi is already at Oikawa's house. Earlier there had been a warning of severe thunderstorms, but honestly, who cares? He knocks on the door and is let in the house. Basically everyone is already there already, and everything is chaotic as usual. Kunimi sets his stuff up in a corner and is fully prepared to not socialize, but somehow finds himself holding a wooden spoon and dueling with Yahaba.

Three hours pass by, and at this point everyone was playing the traditional get-in-a-circle games. At the moment, they were playing Truth or Dare. On a side note, the thunderstorm had gotten worse and worse. Like, bad enough that it was on the news. Not that anyone inside Oikawa's house would know that, because no one was paying attention to the TV or their phones. It was Yahaba's turn for Truth or Dare, and Kunimi got up to use the bathroom because 1. He absolutely knew that Yahaba was desperately trying to figure out what Kunimi was scared of, and 2. He actually had to go.
