John's POV

I felt the nerves and tendrils of thought wash in and out of memories within my human brain, such a strange experience, and sent them out to find her. I was going to have to go to her, comfort her, but most of all act the way I needed to be and play the guy that would protect her most and be the most trustworthy. For Jonie I was her cute, brown haired, loyal boyfriend that would stick with her forever. For Toni I was a cruel, horrible man that supposedly beat her up. For Melonie I was just another guy to entrance then dump, but I wasn't going to let go that easily. For Hermione I was a nobody, just some guy at school, but she needn't know how close an eye I keep on her. At least, that what they thought. I looked the same for all of them, which was turning out to be a big mistake. They saw what I wanted them to see, but right now, I was in more trouble than I could ever imagine and I had to sort it out.

My mind caught on hers but tried to let go, she was in so much pain that it was a natural instinct to. I reached a little further back and placed my body at the end of the street. I walked slowly up to her house, and if I hadn't known where she was, I wouldn't have spied her under a large tree in the front garden of a pretty, cottage-style mansion where her body racked with sobs, even though the early summer daylight was quite strong.

I climbed over the short wall separating the huge grounds from the everyday, boring life of the not rich, now walking a bit faster, and with no hesitation, when I reached her curled up figure I scooped her up and hugged her to my chest. (A/N: most commas in a sentence, like ever! Oh and if you don't understand the big reveal (it's gonna happen in a mo) then please comment to tell me!) She didn't even notice me but her sobs seemed to slow down as I stroked her soft hair and rocked her gently. When she had stopped sobbing, though tears still ran down her cheeks, she drew her legs up so she was sitting on my lap and rested her head on my chest instead of my arm.

When she mumbled a barely audible thanks, I thought she was ready to be moved so I put my right arm under her knees, my left supporting her back and stood up. I made my way through the garden, the feeling of the blissful dew filled air relaxed me, after the tumbling of stress I'd had on me recently, I needed it. I reached the large, ebony front door, opened it with my mind, and walked through the threshold. I barely took in my surroundings, but gathered by the size and what I had taken in of the house that the living room would be to my right. It was of course, so I placed her now quiet and sleeping form onto her leather couch, turned about to leave when she asked,

'How did you know where I was?'

Her voice was raspy from all her emotion, but I had two choices on answering her question: tell the truth or lie. I picked the latter and said, in response, all my observances and pondering done within a second,

'Well, she rang me very early this morning, probably due to the fact she lives across the world form us now...' I paused, Melonie was showing more depression at the met ion of Her, but I carried on as if I had not seen her wilt, 'and seemed quite out of her mind, actually. It seems she thought I was going to her new school as well, I told her it was all nonsense of course...' I laughed uncertainly, trying to be nonchalant but knowing my nervousness was clear.
