Jonie's POV
The bumpy, scratched and graffitid grey plastic was unconfortable against my hands but the warm, reassuring arm that was slung around my shoulders kept me from shifting my position in my seat. We were surrounded by oddly placed chairs with bored students slumped in them, barely trying to watch the terrible performance taking place in front of us, the audience.
Mr Campen was leering over at the students stuttering over their lines. For a youngish middle aged man he was very unsettling and if it wasn't for John's brilliance at Drama there was no way I would have kept on going with the lesson. I jumped at John leaning in and whispering
'Lost in ya thoughts, are you?'
I turned my head round, our noses touching momentarily, raised my eyebrows but just as he opened his mouth to speak, one of the receptionists burst loudly into to the room, tailed by a petite girl with wavy blonde hair and a big blue eyes.
She looked like a typically nice girl and if it wasn't for the sneer on her face I might have tried to be friends. I felt John tense around me as he saw the girl when she reached the front of the class. Mr Campen stood up to greet them and I gave a questioning look at John but he just shook his head stubbornly.
John's POV
As the boring sketch was being played out in front of us by kids that couldn't even read a script, I noticed that Jonie seemed to be in some sort of trance. I rolled my eyes slightly and thought that this was probably an optimum time to ask her but as I leant closer to her, she jumped so I leant my head even closer, our noses brushing while her beautiful eyes caught mine and said
'Lost in ya thoughts, are you?' I was finally going to ask her but she whipped her head round at the bustle coming from the back of the room. I wasn't really that interested so I put both arms around her and breathed in that caramel smell that radiated from her hair like a blossoms smell.
Instead of dying away, the noise reached the front of the class and I watched Mr Campen greet the receptionist whose name I knew to be Lucy but then my gaze fell on the ever so familiar girl following in her bustling wake. I tensed up and gasped with horror but managed to do it quietly, I didn't want Jonie To get suspicious.
Mr Campen's POV
I shook hands with the new girl and asked Jonie, who I knew to be a slightly giddy yet responsible student, to show the new girl the way to my office to get a copy of the script as I didn't have any more on me at the moment. They both seemed a bit hesitant to leave, well I knew my class was invigorating, but really! I inwardly smiled at my greatness but then the annoying arrogant student John asked to go the toilet. He did look a little green but I wasn't falling for it. But then it would get him out of my class for a bit...I sighed and let him go and he almost sprinted out of the room, the opposite door to which the two girls had left.
John's POV
Even though he seemed to be having a mental debate, Mr Campen finally agreed to let me leave. When...Jonie and That Girl came back, at least I wasn't going to have to see Her or let Her see me. Even though Jonie would be worried, it was worth it but my plans were going so wrong! I had finally found the right moment to ask her, it's not like it's unexpected but I was still nervous, and then my whole world is blown apart by Her walking through the Drama class door, but why didn't I know about this?
I mean Melonie should have told me...unless she didn't know...boy she was going to be distraught! My inner thought bubble was burst when I spotted Her walking in the same direction as me. I tried to hurry passed her nonchalantly but I heard a surprised and hysteric scream of
'Jooooohhhhnnnn????????'
going higher with every syllable of my name.
