Witney came walking towards me looking like a super hot villin. I couldn't help but stare at her with my mouth open and my eyes wide. She was talking to my best friends girlfriend which was kind of a coincedence but I couldn't concentrate right with Witney smiling and walking in that dress. I've never been one of those guys who was atracted to their friends but I guess I am now. Looking at what I was wearing next to what she was wearing I felt underdressed. I was wearing black dress pants and a black jacket over a blue button up shirt with good dressy brown shoes, next to her I looked like a hobo.
"Hey.'' She said smiling at me. I wasn't thinking right so I probobly said something really smooth like "Uhh ba du." She laughed at me turned to Lisa.
"Hey Matt." Lisa said kissing him and Matt didn't even have time to say something before her lips were on his. Mr.Flarity then walked in in a yellow plaid suit that looked hidious but nobody said anything. He took a spoon and a cup and tapped them together like they were at a wedding. The cup ended up breaking.
"Oops," He started. "Any way. We all know why we are here. We have a new reqruit. Please stand Witney Evens." She stood and staggered a little bit but this time she didn't have an apple in her mouth. "Last night she defeated 3 ranking counselers and made it into rank 3. Today we will go through the welcoming ceromony. Please come up here with me." He motioned for her to go up to him. She gave me a embarrassed look but I smiled at her. She walked to him, her black dress flowing behind her, someone in the crowd whistiled and Witney looked surprised, who would think she wasn't hot. "Present your badge please." She unpinned it from her waist and gave it to Mr.Flarity. He held it up to the sacred lighter that burned markings into her badge. A number three was melted into the metal. "We also learned that she was a keeper of the blaze. Not only that but one of our unknowns has finally learned of their power. Richard Huffman, please join us." I knew this was coming so I didn't look as surprised as Witney did. I got up and wakled over to her side. Please present your badge." I took mine out of my breast pocket and handed it to him.. He held it up to the same flame. A star was melted into my metal badge, he took Witney's and did the same but the image melted into hers was a flame. "We learned that Richard is a light bearer." Everyone gasped and then clapped. "Now please, enjoy your breakfest." At this everyone cheered.
"C'mon." I said lacing my arm in Witney's. I pulled her out of the spotlight as she laughed. We went to sit down next to Matt and Lisa and saw that our food was already stiting on our plates. It was piled high with eggs, chocoloate chip pancakes and bacon, typical camping breakfest. I sat down next to Matt and Witney next to Lisa. "You know what I realized?" I asked. "I've known you for about a day and a half and I don't know anything about you."
"What do you want to know?" Witney asked.
"Uhhhhh, something really deep like... what's your favorite color?" I asked with a smirk on my face. She laughed.
"Well that's easy, it's blue, it cools me down." She smiled and started digging in.
"Well mine, thanks for asking, is lime green." I joked. She laughed and kept eating. As me and Witney talked so did Matt and Lisa. I found out a lot about her, her favorite season is late fall/early winter, her favorite food was baked patatoes, she likes early morning the best during the day, she always loved camping, she likes sun rises better than sunsets and she likes the water better than the fire. I liked talking to her and hearing her soft voice, it was deeper than most girls and that gave it a soothing affect. We talked about our silly details like how I can't stand it when a pencil squekes when you write and how she hates it when people smack their food. Then I started telling her about the camps past, all the other people who ounce lived here and how some immortals have been living here for centuries, I told her how usualy the unknowns end up being immortal because they show no other sign that they have any powers until they end up living for like thirty-bajillion years. They stop growing when they turn like 16 or so.
