Nothing came.
Even just a soft brush of his luscious plump lips.
Instead I received a pinch on the nose. A very hard one.
"Owww! What the heck!"
I slapped his hand away. His rich laughter filled my ears.
"Your", he breathed in between his fit of laughter, "face."
Then another roar of laughter escaped his lips.
My face felt very hot. I'm pretty sure I now resembled a ripe tomato.
He was still clutching his stomach, so I ran as far away from him as I possibly could. In that moment I was going to die of embarassment.
"Persia wait up!"
I heard him shout.
I took a quick halt, as I was running out of breath.
Looking left, the ocean looked so breath taking from here.
Actually every view here in this island is beyond beautiful.
Slumbering in its aqua blue rope, the magnificent sight of the ocean mesmerized me. The sand was floury underfoot and a feathery sugar hue.
As I turned away from the sea to run again, I was tackled to the ground.
Flipping me over, Kai sat just below my stomach, pressing his legs against my thighs. I threw my fists frantically at him, which was a bad idea, to have him only grab my wrists, pinning me further into the sand.
Kai's face hovered over my own, as a water droplet fell onto my cheek.
I could feel the coldness of his metal crucifix dangling below my lower lip.
I found myself caught in his eyes, which were darthing back and forth, shining in the sunlight.
They were a deep earthy brown, stained with the color of hot chocolate on a cold winter night, that wraps around you like a blanket making you feel nice and warm inside.
"Okay, you got me." I whispered.
He was the first one to break the eye contact, he patted his hands on his shorts and helped me up.
Shaking my wrists, I shifted my gaze away from him.
Awkward.
I then noticed a little boat that bobbed and lolled with each wave that passed by. It was tied to a tree, that I found very familiar.
It was my tree yesterday!
I ran towards it in joy.
But as I got there neither my scooter nor my bag was nowhere to be seen.
I plopped down in disbelief. I cant believe I lost my stuff.
"Is this what you're looking for?"
I looked up to see Kai pushing the scooter from the shrubbery.
"How did-"
He tossed me my bag, which hit my face. I wanted to cry, not becuse it hurt but because I was so happy.
"You're welcome missy."
I opened my mouth, but he cut me off again.
“Your I.D. was inside." He casually drawled leaning against the scooter,"and I figured out you rented a scooter as the only tourist in this island."
My heart skipped a beat. I could've lost my important shit! Goodness!
"Thank you." I beamed at Kai, tears of joy glistening in my eyes.
