I keep my head down and make a beeline for room 233. Though the rooms look cleaner, more polished, more sophisticated than in High school. Breathe in the college air and stress over homework; again the perfect college combination.

"Sophie!" I glance behind me, looking for the face that called my name.

"Hey, I wanted to talk to you about the other night." Fitz? No. Nope. Not today.

"Um, you can't talk to me right now. You don't deserve to." I emphasize.

"No. I just wanted to say thanks." I look at him, incredulous.

"For what, Fitz? Make it quick, I need to get to English."

"Well, Sophie, you made me realize that I need to not string people along like I did to you!" Tears fill my eyes. How dare he make me cry on the first day of college. I fight the urge to slap him. Why am I fighting? Because you can't slap a kid on the first day of school.

"Just go away." And he left. Leaving me in a sea of staring college kids.

I fast-walk to the classroom and run straight into ice-blue eyes. Ugh, this day is just perfect, isn't it?
