- AFTER EASTER EDITION  -

"Hey, Foster!" Sophie hears. She turns around, and sees the light blonde hair and swagger of the One and Only Keefe. She smiles to herself as he comes over. Keefe puts his arm around her and Sophie giggles.

"So, you ready to go?" It was the end of school, and a Friday, so like a complete bonus of school ending.

"Yeah, I just have to go get my backpack from Mrs. Vacker's room," Sophie replies.

"Then I shall await you at the front steps after I get my stuff," he says sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.

"If you had to get your stuff then why did you ask me if I was ready to go?" She teases. Keefe looks offended.

"It was the obvious thing to do, you can't just see your girlfriend in the hall at the end of the day and say, 'oh, i gotta get my stuff, see you outside.'" Sophie's heart flutters at the world 'girlfriend.' Keefe continues, "You have to be polite and ask about her first. Number one rule of boyfriending."

"Boyfriending?"

"It seemed much a better word in my head. Now I will meet you on the front steps in approximately five minutes." Sophie smiles and salutes him.

Keefe jogs over to the hallway where his locker is, while Sophie walks just a few steps and turns toward her own locker. She opens it and smiles, seeing so many pictures of her friends, family and Keefe all tacked to the door. She swings her purple backpack over her shoulder, closes the door, and turns to walk straight into a person standing a few inches in front of her.

"Sorry-" Then she stops. Sophie looks up at the face, and sees a horribly familiar one.

"Fitz?" She asks. Fitz smiles the smile that used to make her heart flutter, and exclaims,

"Sophie! I've been looking all over for you. That hobo had his arm over you're shoulder, and everyone know's that you're mine-"

"I am not your property. You are no longer in my life. You cheated on me, Fitz. That's not forgiveable. Also, I am not anyones'. I have a better boyfriend now," Sophie interrupts. Fitz smiles, but she can see the anger behind those teal eyes.

"C'mon, Sophie, let me get you a coffee," Fitz tries.

"No. Get away from me," She retorts.

"Come on." Fitz grabs her arm and starts to pull her.

"Let me go!" Sophie yells. She sees Keefe walk in, and at first seems devastated, thinking that Sophie is voluntarily holding Fitz's hand, but then he sees Sophie's face and his sadness transforms into anger - but not at Sophie. His glare is directed at Fitz.  Keefe walks over and says,

"Let go of her." Very softly. Dangerously. You can see the anger in his eyes.

"What are you gonna do, pretty boy? Stare me down?" Fitz replies.

"Last chance," Keefe stands very still. Fitz just laughs. His hand squeezes Sophie's arm, and it feels like it's on fire.

It all happened so fast. Keefe punched Fitz's perfect nose right in the middle. Fitz immediately lets go of Sophie's arm and brings a hand to his bloody face. Fitz runs off to the bathroom, probably to make sure that his nose isn't ruined forever.

Keefe takes Sophie's hands and asks softly, "Are you alright?" Sophie nods and kisses him lightly.

"Keefe, your hand!" It was bruising, black and blue.

"It'll be fine," Keefe puts the hand behind his back, but Sophie took it gently in her hand.

"Let me wrap it up for you. I have a first-aid kit back at the dorm."

"Fine. But just know that if Fitz, or anyone, for that matter, touches you again without your consent, I will punch them so hard I break my hand. I don't care of the consequences if it means you are safe and in my arms." Sophie's eyes fill with tears.

She really did love her boyfriend. She kissed him, and they walked to her dorm, not letting go of each others' hand the entire way.
