10:32pm;
eddie walked next to beverly, his fingers twiddled with each other nervously. he eyed the raven haired boy on the opposite side of beverly. his mind raced with possibilities of the much taller boy knowing the meaning behind the daisy that grew from his head. the pink flower sat innocently atop the boys head, waiting for the day eddie's favorite flower would grow upon someone's head, but it never did.
"where the fuck are we going bev?" richies faint, low voice broke through the silence of the three walking. eddie eyed the boy for a moment as he spoke. his eyes wandered around the snow-white skin of the boy, tainted with a few freckles. the bambi eyes of the boy were focused on something in the distance, eddie observed the golden specs that lined his iris. soon enough his eyes roamed upward to the tall boy's raven hair.
eddie couldn't help but notice the lack of any flowers growing in the curly locks that adorned the boy's head. eddie wondered what sort of flowers would grow from the boy's hair. maybe tulips, or hydrangeas, definitely not sunflowers.
"eddie? you in there still?" the small boy was pulled out of his thoughts by the noise of Beverly's bittersweet voice filling the dead air of the night. eddie laughed and shrugged his shoulders innocently at her comment. eddie noticed they had been walking a few blocks when they made a turn into another coldasac. eddie couldn't help but question where the fiery red head had taken the boys.
"what is this place?" eddie said sweetly, rubbing his nose, which was beginning to run with snot due to the snippy cold air around him. he took the ends of his jacket sleeves into his hands and wrapped his arms over his chest, "at least my jeans don't have holes in them, you must be cold" he said, directing his words, along with his eyes, at richie, who seemed unaffected by the cold january weather.
richie disconnected his gaze from beverly only to direct it at the small, brown haired boy on the other side of her. "oh, its not that cold." richie said tauntingly, placing his hands in the front pockets of his jeans, however, since his hands were abnormally large, they did not completely fit inside the small pockets.
"id say its cold" beverly chimed, walking up the driveway of an old boarded up house.
once the three had reached the front door, which was covered up by three planks of wood that had been rotted away from the constant rain of derry, maine. richie reached a hand forward and pulled sharply away from the house, causing one of the planks to break and creating a space big enough for the teenagers to fit through. "how the hell did you find this place?" he said, vapor, due to the cold, escaping his lips as he spoke. he threw the rotted board to the side, it landed on the concrete with a thud.
eddie was the first to slip into the old house, his small body easily fit through the boards. his brown eyes widened as he looked around at the cobwebs and paper shards. the house stunk of mildew, probably caused by the wet wood, and miscellaneous debris had somehow gotten in through holes in the walls.
"i like to explore-" beverly's sentence was cut short when she let out a gasp as she walked towards an old chair which was covered with a blanket. she quickly pulled it off, causing a cloud of dust to form around the three. eddie coughed as a result.
beverly draped her thin body over the old couch as well as pulling eddie atop her lap in one swift motion. eddie protested by folding his arms over his chest- beverly negated this attempt by taking one of his hands and placing it behind her neck and over her shoulder. "so what would you like for christmas this year, little boy?" beverly said in a low voice, impersonating 'santa claus'.
