I closed my locker for the final time until we come back from Christmas break. Wishing it wasn't, seeing as what's coming up in the next few days. "Liv!" I turned around and saw Alvaro running up to me. "Are you coming to the meet up today?" I looked at him, confused.
"What meetup?" I asked, grabbing my car keys from my backpack.
"Me, Jackson, and Roshaun are going to the mall today to shop a little and we decided to have a little meet up" Alvaro started walking with me outside the school. "A bunch of people would love to meet you"
"Eh I don't really know" I covered my eyes from the sun that was shining down on us. It was blazing hot today and I just wanted to go lay out at my pool. "I'm not really trying to be out there that much, especially to end up on TikTok Room"
"Liv, ever since Princeton revoked your scholarship you haven't been wanting to be on anything. The last time Tiktok Room posted about you was when you and Tia broke up" Alvaro argued. I rolled my eyes and unlocked my car.
"Alvaro, I've been on that page almost every month and I've only known about you guys and Tiktok since May!" I argued back.
"Don't flatter yourself" Alvaro scoffed. I gasped and slapped his arm. "Ow! Okay! I'm sorry. I'm just letting you know you have nothing to worry about, it's not like you are trying to get back in Princeton"
I quickly looked away and put my backpack in the car.
"You reapplying?" Alvaro asked me. I sighed and looked at my friend.
"They reached out" I shrugged, simply telling him. Alvaro raised his eyebrows at me, confusion written all over his face. I groaned and place my palm on my forehead, "After me and Mattia broke up and it was all over Tiktok room, they reached out to me. They said if I can at least stay out of 'trouble' before applications start again, I can get my spot back" I explained to him.
"Is that why you and Mattia broke up?" Alvaro looked hurt, thinking that I would use his best friend like that. My heart broke looking at his face.
"No Alvaro, I love-" I paused, realizing what left my mouth, "loved Mattia. I would never use him like that. Please don't think that. You know why we broke up and that was that. I promise" I reassured him - and to be honest myself. Alvaro nodded, understanding what I said.
"Listen Liv, you don't need to put up an act for a school. You are an amazing singer and an even more amazing person. If they can't see that, thats their loss. You can make it without them" Alvaro shrugged and walked away from me. I groaned, stomping my feet.
"Have a good winter break, Ms.Rodrigo" I looked over and saw my principal talking to me.
"You too Mr. Reese, stay away from the salt! Don't wanna repeat last year incident" I told him, reminding him of his heart attack. He glared at me and walked back into the building. I scrunched my nose and got into the car, driving off.
