Okay guys so I went back and realized how much editing I needed to do on this book, especially this first chapter. So, I temporarily delayed my updates to finish editing so this book actually makes some sense.
Sorry.
Also I'm going to be a bit more descriptive because my writing is currently lacking in the description department. Also excuse the tense changes, I'm working on that too. If you'd like to kindly point out mistakes that'd be fantastic.
Plot will be the same as well as the characters, just a tad difference. I hope you like! :)

Veronica's Mind-

"I swear Veronica, I didn't steal no drugs. It wasn't me."  Says the bloodied man tied to the chair.

He's in his early thirties though he seemed to be decaying for longer. His wild, uncut, dark brown hair, is matted and tangled against his head, oily from no washing and sweat. Two gaurds stand on each side of him. Both of them huge human beings towering over everything in the room. Joe and Christopher. Both bulky and heavily tattooed. Scary men one might say but I don't ever judge by appearances. They're job is to listen and guard, and they do it well. One is holding him down to the chair while the other one beats on the guy at my cue. The pathetic man whimpers and I scowl at him, another life wasted. Repulsive.

"Why don't I believe you Travis? I want to believe you, I really do, but in the end I'm missing some drugs and money and you're the only one in the chair. Plus, I'm sure these two fine gentleman have something much better to do right now, so, let's cut to the chase." I smile innocently at him then scowl. "One last chance Travis. Where are the drugs?" I shout at him. He winces at the intensity of my voice.

He sputters blood as he begins to cry, shaking his head violently.

"It wasn't me I'm trying to tell you! I don't know where the drugs are!" He cries violently spitting more blood, his head hanging in defeat.

"I'm afraid that's not what I wanted to hear, Travis. Get him out of sight." I say bitterly to the two guards next to him. They sigh in pity at him, shaking their heads as if saying he was a fool to not give me what I want. He is a fool.

"NO!! DON'T DO THIS! I CAN HELP! I SWEAR I CAN HELP! JUST LET ME GO!!" He screams, his voice dripping with desperation and fear.

I turn my back to his screaming protests as I leave the room. Now how the hell am I supposed to get 50lbs of cocaine? Ugh how I hate the sketchy druggies. Now what to do, what to do... OH! I know just the right person.

I walk down the hallway, Travis's screams going from distant to nonexistent. I pull out my phone and go through my long list of contacts. Where is he? And I'm scrolling and scrolling and scr— AHA! I click on the contact name and it dials.
