The vibrant sun-rays snuck into the caverns opening, shining onto the two figures inside, resting. The large, white scaled male shifted lightly, his gold optics flickered open. Observing his surroundings with a few blinks of his eyes, he nearly forgot where he was.
His eyes landing on the still sleeping female beside him, the quadwing forced himself to sit up. His four wings splayed outwards, stretching to their fullest extent, gathering his paws, the reek of death scent had left his home, thank goodness.
The stains of crimson never left the cave's floor, he quickly forced down his raw emotions for his guardian's passing and ambled toward the entrance, his ear appendages flicked gently, drawing in a soft breath of fresh crisp air. He opened his mouth for a rather large yawn, his tongue flickering out before he closed his mouth with a huff.
Rustling sounded from behind him, the green scaled female was awaking. Looking over his shoulder, his muzzle formed a slight smile upon his gaze landing on her form.
"Good to see you're finally awake," Radar stated as he turned back towards the slowly rising sun.
"Good to know you're in a better mood, how ya feeling?" She asked with a small smile, perching beside the quadwing with a small thud, her tail curling around her side, her scales managed to remain their original pale green colour, taking in the warming sun-rays.
It took a moment to respond, his mind was rather blank unaware of how to answer. While the question hung in the air, he shuffled with his claws against the cave's floor.
"Better I suppose, its just hard to get over, y'know?" He stated, tilting his cranium in her direction. Kitkat opened her orbs, and returned the stare. He had to stuff his emotions down again as he glanced back to the outside of the cave, he didn't feel like crying again.
Nodding with agreement, she replied "I understand that. But your mother wouldn't want you slouching around. She would want you to move on, without her." She grinned lightly as she too stared outside the cave, the sun hitting her in the eye. She looked away. Gathering her paws, her wings automatically opened.
"How about we get something to eat, I don't know about you, but I'm starved." She joked, Radar managed to chuckle along with her. Opening his wings, he replied to her with,
"I dont see why not, race you? " The quadwing challenged.
This caused the female to light up, with determination. Curling her lip into a fanged smile, she was the first to leave the cavern.
"I'll beat you! Just to warn you!" She called out, pouncing from the cave entrance and falling from the mountain cliffs, tightly folding her wings against her back. She felt the air rush past her face and she grined as she looked back to see Radar was still perched up his cave. Slow poke. Or so she thought.
While he remained inside, he smirked lightly. Letting himself fall forth, as gravity took over. His four exteriors hovered against the sharp stinging wind that thrashed up against his face, he squinted his gold orbs as he dove after her. Her frame looked smaller from his height, he grunted softly. She wasn't going to win this one, he thought, tucking his wings further into his chest. He happened to zip pass her, catching the surprised look on her muzzle as she watched him zoom faster towards the ground.
He smirked to himself, as the earth below rapidly came into view. He felt a tang of bittersweet victory as he grew closer to the end of their little race, purring to himself with self gloat when a rather quick gust of wind and a quick blur of green and yellow shot past, he grew confused.
