Prologue

Astrid's peaceful slumber was rudely interrupted when she felt someone jump on her back. Astrid let out a groan and opened her eyes.

"If you don't get off me, you'll regret it." Astrid growled out but the person wouldn't move.

"I doubt you'll do anything to me, you love me too much." A cocky female voice was heard from on top of her. Astrid knew exactly who it was.

"Jade, get off my back before you break it." Astrid finally feels the weight on her back lift. Astrid turned so she was now laying on her back. "Why are you waking me up this early, Jade?"

"It's 10, you missed breakfast." Jade points out. Astrid hums in response and closes her eyes. "Wake up, we have detention to serve."

Astrid opens her eyes and looks at Jade. "You have detention to serve along with Wendy and Diego, not me."

"Come on, I'm going to get bored in detention." Jade whines. Astrid rolled her eyes at the younger girl's childlike actions. "Please, I'll make it up to you."

"Fine, but you owe me." Astrid points at her. Astrid finally gets off her bed and makes her way to her closet.

"Did you make a decision yet?" Astrid hears Jade say behind her.

"For what?" Astrid asks completely confused.

"For the party today." Jade starts off. Astrid closes her closet, stepping out with neatly folded clothes in her hands. "Remember when I told you the girl I like invite us."

Astrid tried not to react when Jade mentioned her crush. "Jade you know how I feel about parties."

"Please," Jade pleads. Jade of course wanted her best friend to come with her but she knew it was going to be a hard task.

"I'm not in the mood today, Jade." Astrid says, dismissing the look of pleading on Jade's face. Astrid knows if Jade kept pleading, she would eventually cave in. "Look how about you tell me how it goes with the girl."

Even though Astrid's face showed a small smile, but on the inside her heart slightly broke. Jade gave the older girl a defeated look.

"Okay, get ready so we can serve the stupid detention." Jade hurries the girl. Astrid rolls her eyes and walks into her bathroom. She takes a shower and does her morning routine. "Are you done yet?" Jade says knocking the bathroom door gently.

Astrid looks over her outfit for today, a black shirt with the school logo, a pair of black jeans with her yellow Off White belt and her Nike white Air Forces mid. "Yeah."

Astrid grabs her jacket and both girls leave the room. They walked to Dr. Saltzman's office.

"Astrid, you're not supposed to be here." Dr. Saltzman says.

"I'm here to keep Jade company." Astrid says.

"You know Jade isn't the only one that has detention right?" Dr. Saltzman asks pointing at Wendy and Diego, who were currently sitting quietly.

"Yeah but she forced me to come." Astrid says earning a smack from Jade.

"So, you're going to stay stuck in with them for the whole day?" Dr. Saltzman asks. He knew both girls liked each other. He saw how the girls' love for each other grew over time.

Astrid knew how Dr. Saltzman gave detention. He would place the student/s in the library and then would ask one of the older witches to do a barrier spell so they wouldn't leave.
