Jinho opened his eyes, woken up partly from the sunlight seeping through the cave roof.

The other part was from Hui's screaming.

"WAAHHFSHDSK AAAHNDSKSK."

Jinho rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand and got out of his bed as fast as his drowsy smol body could carry him to the living room where he found Hongseok and Changgu sitting on his couch.

"Hui, why are you so loud?" Jinho mumbled sleepily.

"SHINWON STOLE HONGSEOK'S MOTORCYLCE," Hui shouted.

"Why would he-"

"Because Wooseok stole Shinwon's car," Changgu replied.

"Wooseok?" Jinho asked, suddenly alert. He's been gone for a year.

"He left this note at our house," Hongseok said, handing him a small piece of paper with Wooseok's messy handwriting, even more illegible with the letters rushed and ink running. Jinho could barely make out his message.

Shinwon sped across the desert, hitting the gas pedal harder than he had ever needed to, but still feeling so slow. Rocks dragging across the tires, dust flying past him, and the hazy mirage of the wall all continuing to tell him that he was too far away.

I have to catch up to him.
