I listened to Kai, as he told me about what happened. "Morro, the old Master of Wind... And if he finds out I have the only thing that can stop him..." "That puts you in danger." Kai said, looking at me. "We have to get you out of here!" "Wait," I said, Kai looked at me, "What do you mean wait? We don't have any time to wait!" Kai said, glaring at me. "Come on, downstairs."
I grabbed his arm, and ran downstairs to my basement. "You. Built. That." he said, staring in amazement at the bike. "It was supposed to be a birthday present for Cole, but since his is still in a month, I can make him another one." "Unless we're not around to see his next birthday." Kai said, jumping on, "I would prefer not to think about that." I thought. "How do you start this thing?" he said. I sighed, "I'll drive." He scooted further up the seat, and I climbed in front of him, turning on the bike.
I opened a secret passageway, and drove down into it, the door being shut behind me. "It won't be long before he comes after you, so we have to get as far away as we can." Kai yelled over the wind. "And to be honest, I'm not sure how far that is. This bike wasn't finished." "WHAT?!" Kai yelled. "I have my toolkit, so I can keep building it, but I need parts to finish it." I yelled back. "How about Jay's parents' junkyard?" "That could do it, but we will just have to get the parts, and then leave. After what you told me, if Lloyd knows about it, Morro knows about it." Kai nodded, and I drove as fast as the bike could go to Ed and Edna's' junkyard.
We stopped just inside of it, and ran in. "Ed, Edna!?" Kai yelled. A door opened into a trailer, and a woman looked out. "Oh, hello Kai. What can we do for you?" she asked. Her voice was kind, although she was an older lady. "We need some spare parts. You think we could get some?" he asked, pointing to the bike. She smiled, "Oh course. Ed isn't here right now, so go ahead and take whatever you need." she replied with a smile.
I nodded at Kai "Let's hurry, we have to get out of here before Morro finds us." I whispered to Kai. He nodded, "What do you need?" I showed him the blueprint for the bike, and he nodded. "It'll only be a few parts, but without them, we can't get very far." I said. "Alright, I'll get those two, if you can get those." he said. I nodded, and ran off into the junkyard in search of the parts.
I ended up finding all four pieces within two hours, after Kai got stuck in a truck. I got him out, and we tied them up to our backs. "Thank you Mrs. Walker!" I yelled back at her, then drove off. Kai had told me a bit about her, and she indeed was a nice woman. "Where are we going to go?" Kai asked. "I happen to know a place that none of you ninja know about, not even Cole." I yelled back. He smiled, "So, you were prepared for something to happen that you had to get away from?" I nodded, "Something like that." then continued driving.
I stopped about a mile away from the entrance to Scatter Canyon. "How did you know how to get here?" Kai asked. "Because I have this whole place memorized like the back of my hand." I said, winking at him. I walked up to a rock, and kicked it in, as a secret cave opened up. "Come on." I said, dragging the bike into the cave.
The door shut behind us, and Kai let out a scream because of what I thought was the dark. I sighed, and clapped twice, turning on the lights. "Wow. You... you have this place for emergencies?" he asked, slinging the parts off of his shoulder. He was staring at the awesomeness of my cave."Yup. And I also have plenty of food and video games." I said with a laugh.
Kai explored around for a while, taking in everything that I had built, before he sat down, and began to play some of my video games. I watched him for bit, than placed the bike in the little shop I had constructed, placing all of my tool kits and pieces on the floor.
"So. You said that you have the only thing that can stop Morro and those ghosts, what is it?" Kai asked, moving around with the controller. I had been a few hours since we had arrived at my secret cave. "I'm not sure. It's some sort of orb thing that Cole sent to me. He said I was the only one who could control it." I said, walking over and sitting on the couch next to him.
At the sound of the orb, I felt my pocket, pulling the orb from place. Kai paused his game, looking down at it. "What do you think it does?" he asked. I shook my head, "Maybe it destroys ghosts somehow." I replied, examining it. "I don't know. Maybe it poisons their Master, so that they can't regenerate?" "But then they could just get another one. Hey, didn't you say the Preeminent was destroyed?" Kai nodded, and I continued, "Then maybe that's why Morro took Lloyd." Kai looked at me, "What do you figure?" he asked, confused, before he started back up the game,
"That Morro took Lloyd to be their new master, and so he could be the Green Ninja. And have Ninjago be cursed." I responded, looking at the motorcycle gloves on my hands. Kai looked at me. "In that case, we have to save him before he is changed into their new Master." I nodded in agreement, and watched him for about an hour, before I went back to working on the bike, in case we did end up having to make a quick escape if Morro arrived soon.
