"Dammit...it's pitch black!" Joe noted.

Though no one could see each other's faces, Ellie and Sara knew that he was agitated.

"I can't see a thing..." Ellie said, trying to calm down from the thrill of almost dying a second ago.

"We should walk along the wall..." Sara suggested.

For a minute, the three teens felt around for some kind of support. After finding the wall, they proceeded down the hallway to the left.

"Left is a dead end. It seems we can only go right," Joe said with a sigh.

"..."

"I think it would be best if we all held hands, so we don't get lost," said Ellie, timidly.

"Yeah, I don't want us to get separated," Joe said, grabbing both Sara and Ellie's hands.

"Right..." Sara said, gripping onto Joe's hand.

The group continued going down the path, but as far as they walked, they didn't see any form of light. It seemed to be a very, very long hallway with no end. The darkness surrounding them started to slowly wear away at their hope of finding an exit. What felt like forever the teen's kept walking in silence, the kind that most horror movies would fill in with some sort of creepy music. Their footsteps echoed across what Ellie assumed to be tile floors.

"Maybe we aren't progressing much at all," thought Ellie as she continued to walk with Sara and Joe.

"Joe...the phone you used earlier....could you try using that to light the way?" Sara suggested.

"Nice one Sara! Man, you're smart!" Joe said, starting to look through his pocket again. Ellie and Sara could hear the sound of candy-wrappers and maybe a pen or two coming from the holes most boys called pockets.

              A dangerous place, pockets are...

"Did you bring it?" Ellie asked, fearing the worst.

"Ah...." Joe sighed, causing Ellie's heart to sink, "I left it back there,"

"...I guess that's it then," said Ellie sadly. They were stuck in a dark hallway, not knowing where to go, no light to show them where they were walking. All they could do was keep walking and hope they could find an exit before they became blind or starved to death. Ellie had a feeling there WAS and exit. Why else would....whoever....was responsible for this have given them a chance of escape in the first place? Certainly, these people would not have just let them escape one room just to linger in another for the rest of their miserable lives...

"Hmm, is there anything around that could give us some light?" said Joe in a questioning tone.

Ellie started to search in her clothes for some kind of light-producing object. She remembered having a keychain on her backpack.

            She sighed.

If only she had kept it in her pocket like a smart girl...

            Like Sara.

Not finding anything in her skirt pocket, she was about to ask Sara when Joe suddenly exclaimed:

"Wha...Whoa?!"

Suddenly, Ellie was being dragged downwards by Joe's hand. Sara was slipping too. There appeared to be some kind of wind blowing from below them.

Were they flying?

"....we're falling??" Joe questioned.

Ellie sobbed. She didn't sign up for this. Sara wasn't making any sounds. Was she knocked out? What was happening?! Ellie's eyes start to close when she felt Joe squeeze her hand.

"Hey...you're awake, right?" Ellie heard him say.

"...no," Ellie replied.

"Haha, hilarious," Joe answered sarcastically, giving a small snort.

After a while, Ellie felt her body grow numb. To her, it felt like time had stopped, and they were just falling forever. Like in the hallway, Ellie felt the darkness wrap around her and diminish her flame of hope. Would this nightmare ever end?

"Hey, how long do you suppose we've been falling?" Ellie asked.

"Ummm," Joe wondered, "a week maybe??"

"Hey!" Ellie exclaimed, "I'm serious!!"

"I know!" Joe wined, "Maybe five minutes?"

"Ugg," Ellie said in response. This wasn't right. Nothing was, at the moment

A sudden jolt ran through Ellie's body. And a piercing pain on her back. Had they landed? Ellie looked around and saw she was in some kind of short blue hallway, and she was sitting on a cushion of some sort.

"Oof," Joe said, sitting up and dropping Ellie and Sara's hands. Ellie hadn't realized they had been holding hands the entire time, but now it hit her. A small blush formed on her cheeks.

"Hey, are you ok?" Joe asked her.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Ellie said, rubbing her back, "But it appears Sara is still passed out."

"Yeah..." Joe said, "We should take her with us."

Joe picked up Sara and started to walk out of the hallway and into the extremely bright light coming from the room right ahead. Ellie got up and followed. On the other side of the hallway was a huge, blue room that appeared to be covered in panels.
