HUMANS WERE CONFUSING that's what Lorelei learned in the few hours that she had been on the human realm, she didn't know what she expected them to do but sometimes one of them could be overemotional and one of them could have an expression on their face that didn't match what they were actually thinking and that confused the hell out of Lorelei

Due to the way that fairies were born -- from a child's emotion, normally a child's laughter, and because they were so small fairies could only feel one emotion at a time unless you were a carer fairy or a tutor, like Celeste as those kinds of fairies tended to be bigger and can therefor hold more than one emotion

But thanks to her now more human size she could process more than one emotion at time and it was really hard for her to get used to it, when one person brushed up against her in the hall she couldn't help but have this burning sensation in her chest and she felt like she was going to rip off the head off the person

Luckily though Liz held her back muttering in Lorelei ear something about how it wasn't worth it and held her arm as the dark skinned girl stopped the former fairy from tripping over her own feet, as Lorelei was still trying to get used to those the spaghetti sticks that humans apparently called legs fortunately though Liz helped her to keep her balance as they walked to the nurses office

"You okay?" Liz whispered to her as she gently dragged her by the arm leaving Lorelei to nod her head as Liz continued to take the former fairy to the nurses office muttering all the way about something called a concussion although the young former fairy had no idea what the meant

"What is this place?" Lorelei asked in wonder, her mouth slightly agape in awe as the pair passed many classrooms and lockers and Liz's eyes widened in surprise that the young girl didn't know where she was and it took her a minute to realise that the girl probably had a concussion due to the hard hit on the head

"We're in school" Liz reminded her softly trying to not freak the girl out if she did have. a head injury then it probably wasn't the best idea to overload the girl with information but what the dark skinned girl didn't know was that there was no head injury and Lorelei was just excited to see the human realm for the first time "You do remember what that is, don't you?

"No what do you do in a school?" Lorelei answers naively as she continues to look around in awe and it causes Liz to pinch her eyebrows in confusion and concern, clearly the head injury was way worse than it first seemed and the teenage girl gently put her head against the former fairy's head causing Lorelei to hiss in pain and back away

"Ow" Lorelei muttered as she reached her hand up to her head and she could feel a burn on her forehead as it began to blister and pain spiked through the young fairy's forehead making her suck in a breath to try and stop the tears from falling from her eyes (Which was a new experience as she didn't know what the salty substance was and why her head hurt so much) Before she looked back at the dark skinned girl's who eyes were wide in surprise at the sudden burn mark that appeared and only then did she see the little silver band on one of the girls fingers and shook her head how could she have been so stupid? The band was clearly made of iron or had some iron in it which hurt the young fairy "Iron"

"Oh my god!" Liz exclaimed snapping Lorelei back into reality "H-How did I not see this before? C'mon we have to get to the nurses office she can give you something for that burn and check out your head, how did you get the burn in the first place?"

Question after question was shot in Lorelei's direction while the two of them continued on their journey to the nurses office, none of the questions could Lorelei answer truthfully without giving away her secret and it was forbidden for fairies to tell humans of their existence and she knew if she did that there was a very slim chance that the girl would be able to return to the mores in the fairy realm and carry on her training to become a pixie dust carrier

That is if the Fairy Council still let her after learning that she ran away and more importantly  learning that she stole pixie dust, just stealing the dust alone was punishable by having her wings taken away and she didn't want that she wanted to be a dust carrier and she wanted to be a damn good one at that and she wouldn't let anything get in the way she decided

This was just an experiment she decided right then and then. An experiment to let her know what the human world was really like and whether it was just as fascinating as she believed it to be but then she would return to the  fairy realm and beg the Council and Celeste to give her another chance and then she would work harder than she has ever before and work to become the best damn pixie dust collector the fairy realm has ever seen

But what Lorelei didn't know was that the things that humans liked to call 'feelings' that Lorelei finds highly confusing might get in the way of the plans that she had made for herself and it was all to do with the dark skinned brown haired girl with a kind smile and a heart of gold that may have the young fairy reconsidering her plans.
