Jimin

My husband and I waited impatiently for Jin to arrive. Hoseok had just texted us that they were on their way. My husband was a bundle of nerves. We were struggling without Jin. Our home had become like a cemetery, quiet, eery and devoid of life.

Jin was our sunshine after a dull and rainy day. He was the scent of new earth after a storm, everything about him signalled new life and rebirth for my husband and me.

Jungkook held my hand in his, imitating Jin's action to play with my fingers. A small tear escaped my eyes as I thought on that. I wiped it away quickly and smiled up at my husband in reassurance as the doors swung open and Hoseok brought our Jinnie inside.

We both ran to him, hugging him close as he teared easily.

"Hyungie. .....Minie hyung.....I .....I've missed you so much," he cried, holding onto us.

Hoseok stood aside. I watched as a small tear escaped his eye. I didn't want to let go of our Jinnie, neither did my husband. But we made our way slowly to the doctor's room to settle Jinnie in the exam room. Jungkook got out a bottle of banana milk and Jinnie laughed happily, drinking it immediately.

"Share some with abeoji, my little one," Jungkook teased Jin's tummy. I laughed at his cuteness while Jin pretended to give him the bottle only to take it away naughtily. Jungkook laughed heartily. My heart smiled seeing my husband so happy. This is what Jinnie was for us. He was our happiness.

We had just settled Jinnie in the bed when Jungkook's phone went off. He left the room to take the call while I cooed at our Jinnie, rubbing his feet and massaging his calves. He looked so much heavier already.

A few moments later, my husband burst through the room door.

"Park, we need to leave immediately."

I was confused. What had happened?

"That was Chang. Haleomoni has called a board meeting without our consent. Chang managed to borrow your secretary's phone without haleomoni's knowledge. We have 20 minutes before she goes online with the board."

"Shit! I'm so sorry my baby, we have to leave now but we'll be back and this time we'll be taking you with us. Hobi, please take care of him for us."

"I will Jiminie. Don't stress. Just go."

I watched as Jungkook leaned in and placed a soft kiss to Jinnie's lips.

"We'll be back angel. Look after our sweetpea."

Seokjin nodded and I squeezed his hand before we left. My husband held my hand tightly as we ran to our car and raced to the office.

"What the fuck is she up to Jeon?"

"She's trying to prove that we're incompetent. Chang said she planned this last night after we left. She made all the arrangements and deliberately sent Hoseok away so he wouldn't alert us. She wants to take over the running of the company."

"At her age? Is she crazy?"

"She knows what she's doing but she's making one mistake." He turned to look at me, "She's underestimated me."
