Camp wasn't that bad anymore. I found someone who I had an interest in and made me... Feel better than I usual did.

The someone is a girl named Y/n. She stood out as soon as she came to camp. Her h/l h/c hair blew so nicely in the wind, and she always had a smile on her face.

If I'm being honest, at first I thought she was annoying. Because of how perfect she seemed. She was pretty, nice, and cheerful. Like, god is super unfair.

Now... It's different. I don't know what it is exactly, but I always wanna be with her. God. I sound so cheesy right now, don't I? Jeez..

I yawned quietly, sitting against a tree outside the mess hall. "Tired all ready Max? It's only the afternoon!" Nikki, sitting beside me laughed.

I roll my eyes. "Fuck off." I say plainly. "I am tired. Tired of David's bullshit." I groan, closing my eyes and leaning my head against the tree.

Nikki giggled. "He wasn't thaaat bad today." She said innocently. "Whatever you say, Nikki." I mumble as I open my eyes.

I stare at the top of the tree, leafs falling all around. I have the weird feeling of being watched.

"Is it just me, or does it feel like your being watched right now?" I ask out loud confused.

Nikki looked over to me and laughed, pushing me playfully. "Don't scare me like that Max!" She giggled.

I stare plainly at her. I roll my eyes and turn my head to the side, my eyes widen when I make eye contact with a pair of e/c eyes.

I feel my face heat up. It's Y/n. Her eyes widen and I see her face turn red. She looks to the side and pretends it never happened.

I look over to Nikki. Who leans into my face—very, VERY close. "You're all red, Max!" She states. "Are you sick?" She asked.

"Um.." I mumble, still a bit paralyzed. She leans in a bit more, lifting up her hand to put on my forehead, when I see a figure standing beside us.

Nikki turns first. "Oh, Y/n! Hey!" She smiles. I turn my head and meet eyes with Y/n. She completely ignores Nikki and sits in front of us. "What was that all about?" She said with a smile, though she had a scary aura around her.

"Um... I think i'm sick?"

I say awkwardly. Why did I feel so intimidated by her? She nodded her head and turned to Nikki. "I have to talk to Max." She smiles.

"Okay!" Nikki smiles, not moving.

"...Alone." Y/n said, a tone of irritation obviously hitting at her voice. What's up with her? Isn't Nikki like her best friend?

"Oh... Okay..!" Nikki says nervously as she stands up, then walks away.

"Finally." She breaths out, and turns to me with a smile. "What was that all about? And what do you need to talk to me about?" I ask nervously.

"uh.. Nothing really." She fiddled with her thumbs.

"Then why did you—... Wait, Y/n... Are you..?" I pause, looking at her. Her eyes widen and she puts her hand on my mouth.

"No I'm not in love with you! You have the wrong idea! I just thought you looked uncomfortable with her. I mean obviously. That's why I came! And you're definitely not uncomfortable around me."

"—Jealous... I was gonna say jealous." I say awkwardly.

"Oh... Wait, that's worst!" She mumbled, her face turning red. For some reason I felt my lips curl in a grin, and butterflies fill my stomach. I start laughing.

"Heyy! Why are you laughing?" She pouts. "You're cute when you're jealous." I say without processing as I laugh.

Her eyes widen and she looks to the side. "Cute, huh." She mumbled. She then leans close into my face, causing me to stop laughing.

"I like you too."

"..!! D-Didn't you just say you didn't like me though?"

"I lied."

She smiled, I look at her awkwardly. She smiles nervously and gives me a small peck on my lips. Sticking her tongue out she laughs.

"I guess that proves you're not perfect. Jealousy." I laugh. Trying to joke so I don't have to comment how I felt about that she kissed me, though I can tell she knew I liked it—my face was cherry red.

"I'm not jealous! But... Stop letting Nikki so close to you. It gets annoying to watch." She whines playfully.
