It's a cold winter morning, the wind is blowing while snow falls, and the sun is shinning. Adults are waking up and getting ready for work, kids are waking up realizing it's a snowday, and you are opening up your café.
Taking your keys out of your white purse, you put them into the keyhole and walk inside the building. Adjusting your f/c scarf you quickly walk over to the heater, turning it on to warm up the place. You then turn on the lights, despite not needing them with all the lights from the outside. You pull out the chairs from the tables, and place the pillows on the few couches.
Finally, you top it off by re writing all the list of items on your menu on your chalk board. Adding a fancier font to the "today's special" with sparkles around it. You hum softly as the heat starts to settle in. You take off your scarf and put it down in the back room, adding your coat to the coat hanger as well. You didn't have a uniform, being the only person who works here, and so you wore your favourite outfits.
You smile, humming a soft tune under your breath as you twirl out of the room, spinning and dancing towards the from door. You flip the open sign to show your store was open, and pushed open your blinds. Today was going to be a great day. Maybe not for business, but you felt it. Today, was going to be the best day you'd have for awhile.
Minutes pass by as your soft tunes play quietly on the speakers in the cafe, you hum to the tune as you wipe down the counter top as you wait for your costumers. You had baked everything the previous night, so baking duty was already done. But you felt like you were forgetting something. You knew people often came in the morning so you had to stand behind the counter for a little bit.
Ring
The sound of the bell attached to the door was like music to your ears. You perk up, looking up from the grey cloth in your hands to the door. Someone who wasn't a usual stood there, looking around the room.
He has black curly hair, tan skin and gorgeous teal eyes. His skin looks smooth, and he has a button nose. He wore a white shirt, a baggy baby blue coat which wasn't zipped over top of it. Adding to the outfit, he also wore black jeans with a matching black belt. Topping the outfit off he wore black boots, with black earrings.
Slowly his teal eyes meet your e/c ones.
Your lips curl into a smile. "Welcome." Your soft voice comes out smooth as butter. Silently the male walks over to the counter, glancing behind you at the menu. As he does, you observe his features now that you have a closer look. He reminded you of someone. Who, you couldn't remember. Maybe you saw him while walking in town? Maybe he was in your elementary school?
"Mocha is today's special. I make the best ones in town!" You smile brightly. He breaks his gaze from the chalk board to look at you. His expression is unreadable. He's silent for a couple seconds before looking back at the chalk board and speaking up. "I don't like sweet things." He states, his voice low. You realize as he speaks that he has cute dimples. This male was confirmed; attractive.
"Oh, alright. Feel free to order something more bitter then, sir." You smile nervously, not used to that response. Usually people just said no thanks. You hum as you wait for him to order, watching his expression. He seems to be reading everything on your menu, and be obviously seems displeased. His expression suddenly shifts into a somewhat happy look.
"One black coffee."
You nod your head. Despite him not saying please, his tone was polite, though impatient. "That'll be two dollars and fifty cents." You say softly. He raises an eyebrow. "That's expensive for a coffee, don't you think?" He doesn't seem annoyed, more confused if anything. You give him a nervous smile. "Ah, I know. I try not to be too overpriced, but going any lower I wouldn't be able to afford this place. I don't get many costumers." You smile nervously.
