July 1796
A lazy brook sparkled at our feet as Timothy and I watched our small children playing in the cool water. The air was hot and sticky, typical of a July day in Virginia. With the sun beating down, our children splashed each other with grins and giggles. My babies. Simon, age 8 was the oldest of our children, and quite protective of his younger siblings. His hair was deep chestnut brown, curling at the nape of his neck. He mostly resembled me, with his soft dove grey eyes. Simon loved being a big brother. Isabelle, age 6, was next in line. She had coppery brown hair like her father. Isabelle always tagged along with her brothers, joining in with their games. Next, Henry, age 5. He looked up to his older siblings, always copying what they did. Henry's eyes were the same stormy blue as his father's. One the blanket between Timothy and I napped little Felicity, age 2. Her chubby fists were curled up as she slept. Felicity was the darling of the family. She was spoiled by all, especially her father. I looked over at Timothy and smiled. He reached for my hand, bringing it to his lips and kissed it softly.
"They're quite something, aren't they?" My loving husband asked me.
"They are little miracles." I agreed, using my free hand to stroke my growing stomach. In November, Timothy and I were going to have another baby. "Who would have thought God would have blessed us with this many children?"
"He blessed me with a wife and a passel of children. I thank Him every day for bringing you to me those many years ago. He has provided well for us." Timothy announced, squeezing my hand. God truly had provided for us. With Edward being taken away, Timothy's parents were able to collect the rest of the money stolen from them by Edward and his accomplices. Timothy's parents bestowed some of this money upon Timothy who used it to fund his own bakery. I assisted him with the bread and cheese making and loved every minute of it. The life God gave us was pleasant, and I wouldn't change it for anything.
Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
