Death. Decay. Silence.

The hellscape within Hoseok's mind is horrifying; were he awake he knows he would feel the urgent need to wretch. Bodies lay piled in the streets, mortals with torches prowl in search of freakish blood. They have been convinced that the immortals are unnatural, to be despised. The world about him falls to pieces, each jagged edge sharper than the last.

How did it come to this?

Mangled immortals with lifeless eyes, and petrified expressions. Even in death, they were terrified. Whatever beast did this is vicious and cruel.

Children crying, and smoke rising from the city as Seattle burns. The world is ending. Mortals are convinced that rapture has come.

Is this the future that Yoongi and Brianna's choices have wrought?

Hoseok's eyes open as he sits up, startled. The dreams, no, the visions have grown more intense. Freya snores softly beside him, silken sheets twisted around her shapely hips and thighs.  The air feels cold. Too cold. Even for this time of year. And there is a presence in the air, an oppressive kind of aura that nags at him relentlessly.

Hoseok shivers, and rises from the bed.

From the window, he watches the street below. It's been three months since Yoongi and Brianna defied fate, and things have been relatively calm. Hoseok has been restless, however, though Brianna and Yoongi seem to be living in their own little bubble. For now. It's good that the young couple are getting a little taste of bliss.

"If anyone deserves it, " Hoseok admits to himself, "it's those two."

The Gods, no, the Antediluvians have been quiet. Even the investigation into the fire that almost decimated an entire city block seems to have fizzled away into nothing. But Hoseok is not fooled. There's no way that the Antediluvians will allow such rebellion. His visions alone are proof enough of that.

"In other news, another body was found near Pike Place. Authorities claim the victim is a young woman visiting from Maine. Twenty one year old Mavis Richards was said to be staying with her older brother at the time, and stepped out just to grab a few groceries…"

At first, the sudden sound of the T.V flaring to life on it's own startles Hoseok so hard, that he actually jumps. Panicked, his hands reach down to support his weight; only to accidentally knock Freya's favorite book onto the floor. Once his nerves settle down, however, he takes a closer look; both at the T.V and the book.

Nothing in the images on the news triggers a vision. It used to be that he had to touch people to see their deaths, but now, sometimes hearing a name is all it takes. Seeing a person one time, lately, is enough to have their likeness burned behind his eyelids as he sleeps. And the deaths are always incredibly gruesome.

A closer look at the book, however, and a sharp, stabbing pain shoots through his brain.

Arms broken, bent backward at an unnatural angle. The beast howls in agony. Flesh ripping, twisting, snapping itself back into place. Jagged claws that rip into the flesh of the mortal who so desperately fights for his life. A puddle of piss lies at his feet, and his legs tremble as a steady flow of urine continues to trail down his leg. Still, eyes wide and fearful, the man raises his gun.

He shakes like a leaf.

Faster than the trembling mortal can comprehend, the beast is upon him. With claws and wicked, gleaming teeth, the creature tears into the mortal, rending flesh from bone and cooing in delight as it's opponent draws his last breath.

And the symbol on the man's shoulder, a patch of sorts, is exactly the same as the one on Freya's book.
