"I can't believe this!" Hoseok exclaims. "Just how many brain cells have you lost since I last saw you? Jumping into bed with a reaper? Did it not occur to you that he might be the one responsible for Marie's death?"
"No, " Brianna argues stubbornly, "I hadn't. Because he's not."
Hoseok looks about ready to tear his hair out. It isn't as if it's the first time that she's ever shown interest in the opposite gender, or anything like that. But a fucking reaper?
Come on!
"And how can you be so sure of that? Have your visions returned?"
"No, " she retorts, "but I already met the man responsible for Marie's death, the one from your visions."
Brianna understands that Hoseok is worried about her, knows that he's probably scared out of his wits by this whole situation. In this world, for so long, she's all he's had. His only connection to the world at all. Too afraid to connect to the world around him for fear of losing those he might hold dear, Hoseok had been a lone for centuries before Brianna's arrival in his life.
And if anything were to happen to her...
The thought makes Hoseok shiver.
Even so, Brianna has no intentions of staying away from Yoongi. No desire to. She can agree that it probably isn't one of her smartest choices to date, but not for the reasons that Jin and Hoseok are so set on. Yoongi won't hurt her, at least not physically.
Emotionally, however, she can't be so sure.
"I would never hurt you, you know that right?"
Yoongi stands before her, hands shoved carelessly into the pockets of his sweats. He'd overheard her conversation with Hoseok. The man is infuriating, although it really isn't as if Yoongi can really blame him.
When Hoseok had first interrupted his moment with Brianna, Yoongi had been out for blood. He hadn't cared about anything else but that primal rage that had surfaced within him, blinded by it as he'd been. But once he calmed down, and the relationship between Brianna and Hoseok had sunk in, he had to admit.
The guy had balls, and that alone impressed Yoongi. Not very many immortals would so bravely threaten to castrate a reaper. And despite the reputation that his kind carries, Hoseok had clearly meant every word. He hadn't been afraid of Yoongi in the slightest.
It just goes to show how much the man cares for his adopted daughter, and that's worth brownie points in Yoongi's book, even despite how irritating he finds the ancient seer.
"I know that you would never physically hurt me, " Brianna admits.
Yoongi frowns.
"Then why have you been avoiding me?"
Brianna sighs. It seems that the time has finally come to have that conversation.
"I just-" she begins, "I just don't know where we stand. I've never really been a one night stand kind of woman, and I let my desire get the better of me."
