The dream ended sadly as quickly as it came as he was pulled back into the waking world, sighing softly keeping his eyes closed to savor the lingering feeling his dream left behind. The bliss, freedom, excitement, and the lingering sense of adventure. Pushing himself up, and slowly opening his eyes he couldn't help but smile at the world around him, streaks of golden light peeking through the leaves lighting up the forest floor. Looking around him seeing the grooves in the rough edges of the bark covering the tall trunks of the trees vanishing into the covering of leaves, a mass of different shapes, and shades of green rustling in the slight breeze making its way through the trees.

Looking down slowly looking at all the shrubs hearing the wind pass through them making a light rustling noise that is calming to the ears. Not wanting to disturb his friend sleeping peacefully beside him, he simply sat in the grass surrounded by trees and undergrowth simply listening. Some time passed and he noticed that the sun had moved from where it was before, and he knew this not by his ability to see the sun, but by the fact that the streams of sunlight had shifted from where they started. He didn't know what this was since it was not written in any one of his books. He wondered if he should name this event since he had no experience naming something like this or really like anything.

Looking around he noticed that much of the dampness of the surrounding world had been lifted, the air also did feel much warmer than before and felt a lot nicer to breath. This was noting like the air in the library, the air had felt stiff and stagnant due to the lack of movement. The library having no windows and being completely cut off from the outside world was also cut off from any sort of breeze causing the air to feel dry.

Shaking his head of all the thoughts that plagued it he realized his friend had stirred and was moved into a sitting position, looking over to it he wondered if it was thinking of anything that had occurred over the past day. Sighing he slowly moved to stand up knowing these thoughts are for a later time. Once on his feet he held out his hand helping his friend to its feet, so that they can continue on their journey to explorer as much of this world as is possible.

He realized something that he had not seen a single animal in his time out of the library, and was now wondering why they hadn't been seen by him yet. He was something new to them as they were something new to him, he could hear them on occasion but could not see the no matter how hard he looked into the trees and bushes. So following that train of thought he decided that he would look for animals to befriend today.

Leading his friend through the bushes and following every sound he could hear, but when he got close the sounds vanished from the area. He spent a good amount of time looking without managing to catch a single glimpse of any of the animals he has read about. Sighing in defeat as the prospect of seeing even a squirrel loomed over him as an impossible task.

As he walked away in the direction of the clearing where he had slept the night previous, in the corner of his eye he caught movement of what he assumed was gray fur. Turning around ever so slowly and carefully as to not disturb the creature hiding in the bushes, whatever it was. He wanted to see it. One careful step at a time he crept closer to the bush the animal was hiding in moving slowly so it wouldn't be alerted to his presence. Upon finally reaching the bush he parted a couple branches and peered inside to see a small four legged animal standing there, it wasn't that big but it was the first time he has seen anything like it. Its head he would guess came to about his knees with ears that stood pointed on the top of its head, head cocked to one side as if observing him.

The animal took a few steps back clearly cautious of what in front of him, unsure if he was a threat or not. Sitting down the boy waited to see what was going to happen and tried to look as least intimidating as possible since this was the first animal he had seen. He hadn't even seen what it looked like properly yet. Curiosity overtook him, he decided to move closer till he heard a low rumbling noise he took as the animal feeling threatened or at least displeased with his movement forward. Stopping and sitting back slowly, the small creature stopped making the noise and took a tentative step forward sniffing the air softly. Holding his breath feeling a wave of excitement rushing through his body all the way up his spine. Smiling as the small creature moved ever closer keeping its eyes trained on him keeping a look out for any movement that could be deemed a threat. Holding his breath feeling a little light headed took a breath causing the creature to turn and bolt in the opposite direction.

Collapsing on his back groaning in immense disappointment at losing his chance to be around an animal by spooking the poor thing. looking up at his friend who was silhouetted by the rays of warm light with a slight smirk at his failure.
