3 YEARS LATER

Jungkook's deep brown eyes opened, and he felt the silk sheets caressing his pale skin, the light from the morning sun pouring into the room, making Jungkook close his eyes, resting his cheek against the pillow for a few seconds. He could hear the soft sounds of the ocean water lapping against the beach from the near distance, a soft hum in the wind.

3 years. His mind reminded him, and Jungkook's eyes shot back open.

It's been 3 years.

Jungkook sat up, not liking the thoughts cluttering his brain, images in his mind which won't go away. Jungkook licked his soft lips and got up from the bed, feeling the carpeted floor under his feet.

He grabbed the light golden satin robe lying on the hook beside the door and draped it around him, covering his body which was only in lace underwear. He walked out the room, yawning to himself lightly.

He reached the stairs leading down stairs and then heard a voice. A voice which sent a small smile to his face. A voice he'd grown used to. One he'd missed for a while but now had returned. Quite the surprise to Jungkook.

"You're back." Jungkook let out softly, a small smile gracing his face. The man turned to look at Jungkook, and smiled himself.

"I am, baby. Flight landed last night. Didn't want to wake you up." He said, and Jungkook smiled, seeing the fading lines of silver hairs in his dark hair.

Jungkook walked up to him, feet padding against the marble floor. "I wish you didn't have to go to Korea so often." Jungkook said, and the man sighed, walking closer to Jungkook and placing his large hands on his tiny waist.

"I wish I didn't either. But I have so much work there still. Stuff I need to deal with." The man said, and Jungkook hummed, and then reached forward, clutching the man's collar.

"Well.. you're going to work again?" Jungkook asked, and the man nodded. "You know I have to, doll." The man said in his deep voice, and Jungkook bit his lip and nodded.

"That's okay.." Jungkook said, and the man lifted Jungkook's chin up so they were looking at each other. "You don't seem that uplifted today. Everything alright?"

Jungkook nodded, lashed fluttering softly. The man sensed his discomfort and sighed. "It was today, wasn't it?" The man said, and Jungkook nodded again, looking down.

"Today was when your friend passed away. What was his name? Tae- Tae-"

"Taehyung." Jungkook said, and then looked up.

"It's okay. I'll be fine soon. You, on the other hand, need to leave in a half hour. Can't keep going late to work." Jungkook said, and then reached away from the hug and walked towards the kitchen. Jungkook heard a deep chuckle.

"Can't be late if you own the place, baby." Jungkook heard the reply, and giggled lightly.

"I know, Chris. But if all your employees see their CEO walking in late every day it won't put a good impression in their heads." Jungkook said, and then looked at the older man who was standing outside the kitchen, typing on his laptop.

Jungkook took out a carton of juice, and then heard a clearing of throat. "I've eaten breakfast already, Jungkook. Someone woke up late." Chris said, and Jungkook heard the graveness in his tone.

Jungkook put the carton of juice back and then placed his hand against the kitchen doorway, looking at Chris. "I'm sorry. I-I didn't know you'd come back today-"
