The Great Gatsby (Rose's Side of the Story)

Chapter 4

When Daisy and Jay walked into their birthing room, I got there quickly and beat them to their room. Jay said "I said when you got a chance I didn't tell you, you had to drop everything and come." I said "I know Jay, but Daisy's my cousin, I had to come."

The doctor came in and said "Mrs. Gatsby, what are you doing here a month early, you deliver next month." Daisy said "My water broke at home and we came straight here." The doctor said "Okay Daisy Gatsby, who is this feller next to you holding your hand?" Daisy said "My husband Jay."

The doctor mouth fell open when she heard the name of Jay, he finally said "did you run over someone in between West Egg and the city, a woman named Myrtle Wilson, her husband George was looking for a man named Jay." The doctor looked over at Daisy who was in pain and he said "Okay Daisy you're water broke at home and you were at 5 centimeters I just checked you and you are now 8 centimeters." I was just sitting in a chair next to the bed watching my cousin Daisy in pain. The doctor left the room to do some charting, and Daisy and Jay were having a conversation. I finally said to Jay "I am going down to the lobby to get something to eat, I should be back up here before Daisy gives birth."

Jay and Daisy finished their conversation when the doctor came back in to check Daisy again. Jay was still standing next to Daisy's bed and holding her hand. I returned from eating my delicious meal, Daisy still hasn't given birth yet she was getting close though she was 9 centimeters and she only had one centimeter to go before they welcomed a new baby girl in the world.

Daisy wanted to watch some television. Jay turned on the television and quickly turned it back off because Jay's picture on the screen for murder and killing a woman. Daisy said "Jay, honey why did you turn off the television I wanted to watch it." Jay said "Oh, Daisy honey nothing was on so I just turned off I'm sorry." I just sat there and I shook my head no because I knew that Jay had just lied to Daisy about the TV.

The doctor came back in and checked her again and she was ready to push she was 10 centimeters. Daisy had never done this before so she was new to it. At Daisy's next contraction Daisy pushed and pushed and pushed. The doctor said "you are doing a good job Daisy keep going." Daisy kept pushing like the doctor had ordered her to do. At the ending of the 4th push Daisy had the head out and she had to keep pushing. Jay must have bruises on his hand because Daisy kept putting her nails into his skin.

The next push that Daisy did she had delivered the shoulders and the body of their baby. Daisy knew that she couldn't stop now because the baby was almost out. When the reminder of the baby came out the doctor shouted "it's a girl!" Daisy and Jay looked at each other and Daisy said "How about we name her Georgia." Jay said "that is a wonderful idea sweetie." Georgia Gatsby weighed 6"3' and was 13" long.

Georgia was so sweet and caring, she loved her mother and father so much that they didn't want anything to happen to her. There was a knock on the door, maybe thinking it was George coming for Jay because he killed Myrtle. Daisy was holding Georgia in her arms and Jay went to answer the door he opened it and noticed that it was George. George said "Jay Gatsby." George was holding his gun at Jay's head he didn't pull the trigger though all he did was he had the gun ready to shoot.

Daisy said to Jay "Who was at the door Jay sweetie?" Jay said "George Wilson he found me but he will not shoot me." George finally put his gun back into it's cover and said "Jay Gatsby, you are under arrest for killing my wife Myrtle, If you come with me." Jay said "I am not leaving my wife she had our baby and I am not leaving her side." George had his own handcuffs he was a police officer besides being a garage owner, Jay said "wait, I thought you fixed my car, when did you become a police officer?" George said "I became a police officer after my Myrtle got killed by you, Jay. So once again I say come with me Jay." I was still sitting in the chair next to Daisy's bed and I said to Daisy "Daisy, you are beautiful, you're baby girl Georgia is beautiful as well.'' Daisy said "Well, thank you Nick."
