I was sitting pretty on a bench where I am watching my children playing in children's park of our School when suddenly my phone rang.
"mi papa?"
"hija? When will you come home?" he sighed
"papa, we talked about this right? I need to be Independent pa. I love what am I doing infact I am earning from my own sweat."
"I just missed you alright? And I understand that you want to stand on your own." I miss my dad too but I don't want to be dependent to him all my life. Hindi ako baldado para mag paaruga buong buhay ko.
"When this school year end pa, I'll spend my whole vacation there"
"promise? I hold onto that" paninigurado niya
"I promise" I said
"teacher, it's ouchy! Ouchy!" one of my pupil appeared in front of me crying while pointing his scrached knee.
I ended the call and look Sean who's crying. I love to be with my children, but when one of them cries I can't help to be hurt even those tears are part of their growing up.
"shhhuuu. Babe, stop crying okay? Teacher will clean it. Just sit here first" I said to him while whipping his tears.
I stood up and call the attentions of my pupils. I can't watch them here while I treat Sean in the clinic.
"Kinder 2- Emerald come here slowly, no running!" Sigaw ko para ma rinig nila.
They walk towards me walking kahit halatang gusto nilang tumakbo. I have fifteen pupils and they are complete.
"class we have to go back in our room, okay?"
"okay, Teacher Mel" sabay lakad papuntang room.
Kinarga ko nalang si Sean dahil takot itong igalaw ang paa. Iyak siya nang iyak at tinatawag ang pangalan ng dad niya. I need to call his dad dahil paniguradong hindi ito titigil.
Pagkarating sa room ay pinasulat ko sa kanila ang nakasulat sa pisara. Pinaupo ko nadin si Sean sa swivel chair ko.
"I will call your dad okay Sean?" I smiles
"yes teacher please" we response between his sobs
I went out of the room to call Mr. Yu . Three rings before he pick up "Good morning, Mr. Yu. Sean is looking for you. Ayaw niyang tumigil sa iyak,Sir. Hinahanap ka niya"
" what happened? Why is he crying?" he sounds worried then ended the call right away before I can answer.
Bumalik ako sa loob at tinatahan si Sean bago gamutin ang sugat. Naawa na ako kaya dinala ko siya sa canteen at ibinilin muna ang klase sa co-teacher ko na silipin. I let him pick what snack he wants after that he stop crying. Ohh boy! Food it is.
"what happened, Sean? Why you scratched your knee?"I asked kase hindi ko naman talaga alam kung bakit.
"I tripped, teacher Mel. I dont know why. Maybe because I am fat?" pagkatapos ay kumagat sa pizza
"I called your dad. He will be here in a couple of minutes"
Pagkatapos niyang kumain ay pinaghugas ko siya ng kamay at pinalitan ng PE uniform dahil sa nagkahalong pawis at luha sa uniform nito.
*ring *ring* ring
"Miss? I'll be there in a minute sa baba na ako. Is he okay?" daddy ni Sean
" Sir, tumahan na po siya, pinalitan ko lang ng type B uniform dahil sa pawis. Sa shower room po kami ng Engineering building" sagot ko dahil baka umakyat siya sa building.
