"Demi, you need to read these," my assistant, Andrea, yelled to me as she was reading my fan mail.

I went over to Andrea and she handed me a particularly large stack of papers in a little kids handwriting.

"You know I don't have much time to read fan mail, Andrea," I said to her, sighing deeply, "I wish I did but things have gotten so hectic with my tour lately."

"Trust me, you'll want to read these" she said in a way that I knew she was telling the truth.

I took the papers and went to my bedroom to read them. As I started reading, my heart poured out to this little girl. I cried, and smiled at her bright personality. As I started getting towards the end of the letters, I knew what was coming. But when it came, it totally hit me like a deer in headlights. I cried for hours just thinking about what this poor girl and her family went through. Her nana had sent a picture of Brandy with the letters and she had this big beautiful smile on her face. I only wish I could've helped. It hit me when Andrea came and knocked on my door, what I had to do.

"Andrea, contact this girl's grandmother, immediately," I called out.
